Re: Ukraine
The Yemen today is put forward as the heart of where terrorism started. I find at times hard to believe some of these statements having sailed with some of them for years and found them harmless and in the main good natured people. But there you go, the world is full of rumours and bull dust and best to go with your own knowledge , and not be lectured and believing others non existing experiences, coming from people who have the means above all others to shout the loudest. Cheers JS

Re: Ukraine
True or false? On the News they are saying that Putin now wants every country to pay for anything bought from Russia in Roubles, that's going to put the cat among the pigeons, as Germany buys most of it's gas from them, and in order to get Roubles they have to buy them from Russia, thus curtailing any Western clamp down.

Re: Ukraine
That bit was in our news today.
Rouble down by over 40% against the US dollar, makes purchases for oil and gas from Russia very expensive for Germany.

Re: Ukraine
Apparently Boris Johnson has been named public enemy No1 by Putin, now Boris has been called very many names etc in his time, however, although not a great fan, i think that is one name he can be rightly proud of, kt

Re: Ukraine
We complained bitterly about the French supplying exercet missiles to Argentine during the Falklands war. Now we are doing exactly the same thing supplying arms to Ukraine.
All this is doing is prolonging war and costing more lives and more devastation.

Re: Ukraine
The French were supposed to be our allies ,and the Argentine was invadng a British protectorate ,who needs allies like the French. They obviously chose their friends side irrespective of an invasion. Two wrongs don’t make a right. The two wrongs were the Argentine and now Russia. The British and American wrongs were invading Afghanistan on a wrong item of information and then staying in the country . JS

Re: Ukraine
#310. Maybe he has halitosis Keith. The military intelligence that Russia has about the UK would more than likely surprise everyone one living in the UK . Gathered over many years . In another post I mentioned about working on a Russian vessel over 20 years ago and finding a book not for my eyes , with allied fleets and their leading officers named and even likes and dislikes as known. I know because the naval ship I had been on was also in this book. So big brother knows all about you. Putting The UK out of commission would be quicker than the Ukraine. Anyone who did the MN Defense course in 1962 should be well aware of this. JS

Re: Ukraine
There is to be a meeting of the G20 very soon.
Our PM says Putin must not be allowed to attend, Russia is a part of the G 20.
But let him, some one might then be able to take a pot shot at him.

Re: Ukraine
JS, not only the French turned their back on us, Belgium refused to supply bullets.
Giving arms to Ukraine will prevent a bigger war, if Putin takes over Ukraine, Moldova will be next the Poland and then all hell will break out.

Re: Ukraine
#315 As said previously Vic I was in Poland in 1969 and Poland then was still under the Russian yoke , that’s not so long back , and would imagine Poland would be a hard nut to crack also today. But it should never be allowed to get that far. I don’t think Russia has any intention of stopping, its all or nothing with their present leaders , mostly I surmise of the old school. There will be no going back for them. It’s all or nothing . However we all have different thoughts on this , and that’s what others are elected and promoted to make those decisions for us for. I must say however a lot of them I wouldn’t trust them with my car keys if I still had a car. Cheers JS
