Hi Bob,
Just a quick note: I would hope that further assistance will come ASAP.
Meanwhile can start the ball rolling.
If you do not have your discharge book number, pos Doc or Mike can assist.
They may also advise as to what else you may need for the enquiry.
If as the other chap mentioned the office is in Cardiff,
the basic contact details are added below.
Best of luck and regards,
Keith.

I was asked for my Discharge book number!!! not seen my book in over 20 years but R 8783914 seems to ring a bell. To those who seem to be decent folk and genuinely interested in all things ships thanks.
Not even an apology this morning but indicated he will be AWOL for a bit.
Should be back to normal now for a bit Samuel.
Please keep posting yourself.

It is a disgrace that the personal remarks keep coming , there really is no need , if someone's views are polar opposites to your own there is no right or wrong , we are in the main in the time of life where we should enjoying life not spending time having schoolyard scraps or an inane desire to have the last word

Re: Trumps visit.
Unfortunately Rob there are some who just cannot help themselves.
As to our Donald, today he claims very different to the 'Sun' report.
So was it fake news, or was he being clever at manipulating the story to suit his ends?
The demonstration may have been disappointed they did not get to see him, but just as well, the police have enough to do just controlling the crowd as it was.
Will be interesting to see what news comes from the media from Helsinki?

Well said Mr.Pruden.Incidentally I do seem to recall you from the other site, which is probably ,or almost certainly going back a few years now.I have read back on some of your old posts here on this site and you seem to be one of the few voices of reason. You remind me of one of the old type bosuns I used to sail with, although you're probably more like my age now ! I'm sorry to hear you have had such adversity healthwise over the last few years.Well done you for facing them head on.
I used to enjoy reading on here posts about ships and research items ,although I wasn't a member here back then.
It is a bit cliquey on here I think, but one of the members here has become a good friend now,in fact we 'sailed ' together, albeit briefly and in a training dinghy ! back at college about 50 years ago.Where did it all go.
Apart from Captain King Kong there were members like John Sabourn, and a lady researcher from Scotland, and Hugh,I think from up there also, and good old Gulliver ,I 'm sure he was ex-Bibby's.I have recently seen him on another recent site,I won't mention that site's name, but he seems as cheerful as ever and I hope he continues to write some interesting features there. According to my friend here, this site is somewhat poorer from the lack of such posters that I have mentioned.
Anyway I just wanted to acknowledge your post John.
All the Very Best
