Re: employment
Now Lewis the comment as about the export of some items, there was no mention of Ireland importing them.
Currently UK is in talks with Oz about a free trade agreement to buy and el from one to another, something that occurred prior to UK entering EU.
Food going off before it reaches Oz.....really have they never heard of refrigerated cargo?
For many years Oz exported one cargo jumbo full of Ice burg lettuce for use in the Golden arches. Known as Webs Wonder in UK it was not available all year there then so the need to import.
As top motor vehicles, the public will decide what they want, not the EU. Here in Oz all our motor manufacturers are going but will still import for those who want them. However the demand now for other ones such as Land Rover, Renault, Opel, Hyundai, etc is far outstripping the local made.
So it will be with EU and UK, the people wil buy what they want and companies will have to comply.
Yes a number of companies are moving to Ireland, they have been since 2009 when Ireland reduced company tax to 12.5% Dell computers moved all the UK offices to there for that reason.
An example of how stupid EU laws are. In the mid 70's there was a drought in UK and the potato crop failed so they were being imported from countries such as Canada and Egypt.
On the Thames estuary near All Hallows there was a potato farmer who had some very fertile land. He produced a bumper crop of spuds, but under EU law he produced more per acre than he was allowed, the result he was fined. And you wonder why the EU is such a dogs breakfast?

I am not going any where Cappy,
Heavy rain and NOW HAILSTONES YOU`L GET IT LATER TODAY.
Hailstones piling up in August, it is freezing , gas boiler doing 18 knots around the kitchen,
The GREENS should be queueing up for employment. they said in May,.... Due to Global warming we are going to have a long hot dry summer with water shortages......... WHEN.??
It has Never stopped raining since they said that, and these Stupid Incompetents have a lot of Power. and increase Taxes. Put them all in the Jobe Centre and let them queue up at the Food Bank in the hail and rain.
I now have my Antarctic thermals on trying to get warm.

Fish & Chips at Coleman's Ocean Road today then , A quick pint in the Ship & Royal , a hour at the fair , and a look , nostalgically at the old lifeboat , where a small indentation in the paving slab was caused by the friction of a single shoeless wooden post
