Re: employment
Incoming , that may be true , the Greeks always were lazy bastards anyway, they have I think the lowest retirement age in the EU.
Zero hours contracts another way of reducing the unemployment figures. As the UK Imports more than it exports stand by for rising prices as raw materials will cost more to import , food will increase as the pound continues to drop. But hiho if you all think that food banks will start to disappear anytime soon get your head out of the sand.

Re: employment
###ah the incoming arrives as predicted from a french resident .....in answer to your post lewis the greeks are the worst taxpayers in europe......my daughter lived and ran a extremely succesful businness there.........of course the new term zero contract is the old term for casual labour with a fancy name put to it ......i have asked on this site does anyone know of a person using so called food banks i am still awaiting replies on that one when i have seen any comments it is with regards to the unemployable junkies and drunks using them .......brexit is good for this small country of ours....of course when we are out of the german club we will import a damn site less from your euro club and its bent banana laws ...and be like any business should be and have the FREEDOM TO DO BUSINESS WITH WHO WE LIKE WHEN WE LIKE.....not be governed by a company that has not shown a set of accounts for the last many years but gives free accord to every freeloader who manages to get his feet in the trough......if any company in any country in the world was run like that lot it would be closed at once and the directors jailed......but the that is my view as an engishman and a british citizen...cappy

Re: employment
All of the EU has food banks, even the wealthy Germany, why single out the UK.
During the election campaign students had a go at Corbyn over zero hours contracts, many students use them and are happy with them, it suits a lot of people.
The UK has seen a 7% surge in overseas visitors in the summer months, spending an extra £2.2b in the economy.

Re: employment
###[ would expect a greater number of casual workers in france ...specially the south .....call them
zero hour or casual they are the same...this great britain is more than capable of handling it trading affairs without requiring dozens of stamps from non contributors before you can do a good businness deal .....but what does stand out is the german number of percentage of unemployed to us and sadly for the french who have double the unemployment of us and more.....with there young persons at a greater risk of unemployment ..........cappy

Re: employment
The casual contracts by law, now have more elements of employee protection eg: Holiday Pay etc. Hence the employers preference of zero hours.

Re: employment
We have always had Casual Labour, Why do they now call it Zero Hours Contract?? is it some political name to make it sound better for them.
I worked many times on Casual Labour usually on Building sites. and Steel Erecting. when I came ashore for a spell in the 60s. It was No problem.
Food banks are ideal for the Bums and Stiffs who do not want to work, Always happy to see something for nothing. So do not close the food banks.
A lot of Holiday pay was paid for with stamps in the building trade in the 60s, We got a holiday stamp on a card every pay day. and at the end of the year it was cashed in.
I still have a card with several stamps on, never cashed it, I battered the foreman and threw him down a Eight foot deep sewage hole that I dug by hand stopped for a ciggy with my mate and the foreman comes up and says ."If your shovels could work as fast as your mouths you would make good Navvies, " So we climbed out and flung him down the hole and shovelled soil on top of him and walked off.
got another job next day

Re: employment
Well I honestly do hope the UK unemployment figures continue to look good after Brexit and I genuinely wish the country well. But will Airbus still be having the wings made in N Wales, doubt it . Will the Vauxhall Plant in Ellesmere port still be producing Astras and exporting them into the EU under the Opel brand name ,now that GM EU is owned by Peugeot doubt it. Will Nissan still be employing nearly 7000 workers in the UK if the EU decides to get akward over trading arrangements. If you honestly think that the UK will be doing the dictating to the EU concerning trade agreements, Even Jaguar owned by the Indian Tata group have voiced concerns about still being able to trade into the EU.
Sadly I think the UK is in for a hell of a shock, I have a friend in Dublin he tells me that already the UK finacial sector are buying a lot off office space over there.
I hope I am wrong but I think the UK will be well and truely fecked and the sad thing is it will be the kids in the UK will be the ones to suffer not us load of Geriatrics who should never have been allowed to vote in the referendum in the first place.
I am under noillusion the hole idea of the original post was to get this kind of a reaction well you have got the reaction you wanted. I have been trying to stay out of political debateson here but the usual suspects are spoiling for a fight.

Re: employment
###well lewis calm down ...i personally only put out my view .......certainly not just to aggrevate you ....i read your response with much trepidation ...but only from your point of view ......jeez talk about put your lifejacket.... on as for the geriatrics ......well if you consider yourself that carry on it is a name ...i think you would find we would buy and sell todays young ....who sadly fell for the promise of the left and commie lies .....dare i say a touch of french panic in your missive lewis lol.....but the truth is the needs of the euro to export to us is much more than our need to sell to them on a balance of import and export..which of course you explained your good self in your earlier comments ....i do think you are panicking without need .....as for and i say this with tongue in cheek...a quiz master who asks his audience to name a ship ...but then leaves the name of the ship on the vessel... is to jump to international level surely cant expect anyone to believe his views on the whole of europe...now before you reply in a a bit of a rage sit down open a bottle of french wine and take this riposte in the manner it was sent .......rule brittannia ......after all we older persons on average voted in the government of this august nation ......cappy
