I watched on tv last night one of these so called wise discussions of wise people. One of the subjects was Gay Marriage and how the liberal party was dragging its heels. The liberals as far as I was aware wanted a plebiscite on the subject whereas the Labour Party wanted a vote in parliament on either say yes or no. I don't know how many politicians there are but just for the sake of this subject say 500, would you trust 500 pollies a lot of whom show definite same sex tendencies to vote for you, I certainly wouldn't. If they take this subject into their own grubby hands that will be a final blow to democracy as we know it. They already take wrong decisions by sending our armed forces personnel into foreign wars. As a christian nation I do not consider them competent to make legal same sex Marriage,that is a vote for the people and not their tiny minds. Why does the labour party insist on the rules being changed by members of parliament, another reason why their policies are not to be trusted. I trust no politician as such but labour have chosen the wrong path on this. They do not have the power to change a nations moral values, they might think they have but as far as I am concerned they do not. Cheers JWS sorry am talking about Australia. JS

Hi shipmates, 2017 same sex marriage? 19 countrys support it Ireland vote in 2015 in favour of same sex marriage. 179 countries it is illegal you could be killed, or go to prison for 6 months to 7 years. Turins law passed in 1967 in the u.k. means all gay men before this law was passed are pardon for gay sex crimes, but not with any boy or girl under 16 years old still a crime today, to have sex with a man or woman {same sex} you must be over 21 years old.

Thanks Louis, is not illegal as such in a lot of European countries and such as Australia. However they want the final inch which they probably reckon is the best, to get married in Church. Any vicar, parson,chaplain that performs that service will stand to lose a lot of their congregation. I am not a practising church goer but do see that others are and should not stand by and see a bunch of lamentable politicians alter their beliefs and all those before them. If they can do that why don't they go and do something good for the country and ban all foreign and alien religions whose beliefs andl laws are not acceptable to most Christians and the laws of the country. People keep referring to the UK as a Christian country. We used to be but not anymore. How many people on here for instance regularily attend church. I bet it is less than 30%. The fact that we in the UK, do not attend any form of church is the reason that ***** is the fastest growing religion in the UK today.
The Christian faith has been tarnished by scandals for years now. Gay vicars/Gay priests , children being sexually abused by so called men of God. The churches refusal to admit to these goings on is just anotheer bucket of water on the fire.
It obviously goes on in ***** as well but strange you seldom hear about it. I am referrring to the actual religion, not the kiddie fiddlers who have been exposed in places like Rochdale etc!
In Irlealnd the Catholic church had a home for unmarried mothers, when the mothers gave birth to their babies they were, a lot of the time taken away from the mother and told the baby had been put up for adoption, when in actaul fact the child had been murdered by the Nuns, over 800 babies https://www.theguardian.com/world/20...-unwed-mothers.

I only mention Ireland as I know that inquiries have taken place or in some cases blocked by the churches or the Security forces.
Even the jewish faith have dirty washing and will do hell an all to protect their own.
