    Hi Doc ,
    I believe eating bananas helps stop nighttime cramps something to do with the potassium , I eat them every day, oranges too , Joe.

    Prostate Cancer kills more men than Breast Cancer kills women. But while there is plenty of assistance for ladies there is little information for men.
    Mamograms are readily available here in Oz with plenty of information regarding the needs for it and the dangers of not.
    No such for men.

    So I tell as many men as I can, have a regular PSA test.

    I was tested neg a few weeks ago , had been peeing more than usual ,turned out just enlarged prostate ,quite common I believe , had an eye test too recently, the girl said my eyes were perfect ,no sign of any disease ,thankfully.

    I'm a four a nighter too, always have been. Two trips a night as a kid. Doctors treated me for years for prostatitis, for no avail, constant pain. about fifteen years ago I found a new specialist and he diagnosed an enflamed bladder neck, sure as heck, the pain went with correct medication. Then periodically it came back, I had to take a bladder test, the most painful thing I have ever endured. The neck to the bladder all scarred up and almost closed. Had that fixed and it ain't fun, but told it would grow back again and I have an unusually small bladder neck...goes well with one kidney, one and a half eye vision all congenital.

    Johnno, I and my wife can still wear our wedding clothes (31 years this year). I think I posted two photos, one on our wedding day in Oz. (Tennant Creek at the Devil's Marbles) and our thirtieth anniversary wearing our same wedding outfits. My waist is 33inches, weight this a.m. 151 lbs starko. but I'm 1 3/4 inches shorter than my M.N. days, I was 1/4 inch short of six feet, never made it with out stretching. Now, I have to work at staying slim, or work-out that is. Every day floor exercises and a ten mile bike ride, my wife works out too, just a different regime. We enjoy it, it's part of our lifestyle, and we avoid salt and food we don't have control over, big macs etc..

    My wife is terrible to go shopping with, she not only reads ingredients, salt, sugar, (she's hypoglycemic so minimal sugar) and bad fats on new products she checks current ones because the change the ingredients. I swear I think she would inspect the toilet paper instructions if they printed it on the packaging. Just joking, the results are we both can see our toes when standing up and we don't have to move two steps into a room so the door doesn't hit us in the bum.

    Oh. My doctor said with men, "If we live long enough we will all die from prostate cancer." Morbid thought, but I guess true.

    Hi Rod.
    For the last ten years every three months trip to the Dr my weight has been the same 80 kilos or 13 stone in the old money, blood pressure 152/52, PSA 1.8 climbing so slow he said I will be 150 before it reaches the point it was when I started therapy. I don't exercise but told him I do most of the house work, he said using the vacuum cleaner once a week is one of the best workouts you can have. I eat very little fruit,the odd banana I like them, we buy a lot of fruit and my wife eats plenty, I think I'm too lazy to bother. I eat plenty of salt which is supposed too be bad for you but maybe my makeup is different .

    My weight, constant for many years, is 90kg wrining wet and at 1.88 mt tall am told I am fit with BP of 120/78 and on no medication.

    Have lost some waste measurement by my diet. Increase in chilli which helps metabolic rate and on my breakfast, which is a Kiwi fruit with skin on, oat bran and rolled oats I fruity juice. I sprinkle a mixture of Tumeric, said to be good for the memory and two other ingredients, but forget what they are.
    Oh yes now I remember, cinnamon and Cayane pepper. Also drink 3 litres of water a day along with 2 of coffee.
