Re: Storm in North Sea Boxing Day
Yes indeed those were the sort of Trips I just loved, unfortunately not enough of them in my Time at Sea too short!
But that was life ,many good opportunities in life stood at my Doors and some a hit and others a miss! Often wonder (besides my silly decisions at times) ejat I could really have achieved had I put my mind and soul into it!??
All gone now though!
Cheers

Unless you are on the deck side of the business and have to worry about your cargo shifting, or being damaged, your deck equipment getting washed overboard, and the hundreds of hours of overtime paid for chipping and painting ending up for nought when the sea has found all the weak spots and your vessel is covered in red rust streaks, your recently greased running gear stripped of all its protective coatings etc etc etc Although rough weather tested your own and your ship's abilities give me a calm crossing where-in I can bring a pristine vessel into port knowing that my cargo arrives in the same condition it was loaded, the prime function of any vessel.
