Her ancestry will not go into as might land in hot water. But it doesn’t have any bearing on the question in any case. Being an early specimen of this type of conversion no doubt she went through all sorts of personal hell . That again is not the point as there are thousands going through their own hells due to debilliting diseases of all types with no light or hope at the end of the tunnel. It is the idea that someone can use a memento given to her by the people of the country she resides in to try and coerce a government in to not giving another member of the public another medal . And using such for political purposes . JS
    hi john sabourn
thanks for a clearer explanation, sadly political motivated actions are used in everyday life and todate they are being used to subliminally educate the masses, into accepting the insane as the norm.
so im now going along the sea front for a nice brisk walk.
    have a good day.

Malcolm Turnbull a past and much maligned PM has been awarded the highest honor for his efforts in brining about same sex marriage.
Pity for some he was not around back in the 60's the crews of some shipping lines may well have made him king.
    Happy daze John in Oz.

Reading through some of these old posts, and any newcomer to Merry Old Great Britain, be they legal or illegal residents a short sharp quick outline of British Peerage may help them or may further confuse them , which the illegal ones thoroughly deserve.
The PEERAGE has grown out of the structure established in the Dark Ages, this is not in reference to a persons skin colour , so is not suable, and used by the king to defend his territory. When Duke William of Normandy conquered England in 1066, he entered the history books he as perhaps our most famous Duke. He introduced several titles that are now an established part of the peerage. A Duke ranks immediately below a Prince and with some notable exceptions , the title is always conferred upon Royalty. In 1488 sir William de La Pole , Marquessof Suffolk, was created Duke of Suffolk and became the first person who was not a member of the Royal family to receive a Dukedom. The last non Royal Dukes were those of Westminster 1874 and Fife 1900.
Below a Duke is a Marquess and in Norman Britain this title was given to an Earl or Baron responsible for guarding the marches or border lands of Walesand Scotland. The title of Earl was well known in Saxon England and was used by the Normans to govern a County. An Earls deputy is a Viscount. Any mix up in names blame the French so they can put that in their pipe and smoke it. Since the introduction of Life Peerage act in 1958 very few peers have been created..Viscount Whitelaw and Viscount Tonypandy in 1983 and Macmillan , Earl of Stockton in 1984. That should put the cat among the pigeons, blame the Frogs.JS

    John.
The frogs got rid of their Royalty in a very good way, they told them that they where going to play Bingo, and that in order to get the crowds in they had to lay down with their heads on a groove and mark the cards in front of them, such was the stupidity of the Royals they obliged.
As for Charles they tried t get him to play Bingo n Wembley stadium but he had a cough.

Royalty, you love them or hate them.
But across the globe there are still a number of them though most are only figure heads.
But if you look at such countries they all have one thing in common. they are basically peaceful and democratic.
