As a matter of interest Marian there was a guy on the Radio the other day he worked in the Job Centre he avoided as much as poss sanctioning people for being late,as he said sometimes he is late for work and he doesn't get sanctioned.Marian you live in such a perfect world, you have never been late because of an accident on the road that you travel.Maybe you know in advance there is going tobe a crash this morning so I will set off earlier.I don't believe that there is a person on here that has never been late because of a RTA or some road works which you did not know about.

C@W Stock have guards, That have no passengers they carry freight and the guard can tell you and emergency services everything that train has aboard, OH And no tickets to collect or doors to close, He gets a percentage of the takings
Terry, I thought you were talking about rail crossings, these are being automated.
There are three train operating companies in the UK that operate guard less trains. These must have been agreed with the Union's, no talk of in safe when agreed.
Wheelan in 2011 agreed in principle to guard less trains, again it was safet then, what changed his mind?

#123, Ah Jim a "perfect world", a ludicrous statement to make. No of course I don't live in a "perfect world" Though I grant you I have ALWAYS strived to make my life and those around me as damm near "perfect" as possible, it works for me. Regardless of any untoward, my cup is always half full. Life's challenges and believe there have been some crackers, have made me as strong as an ox

Yes of course I have been late for work and taken to task for it by the chief supervisor who I disliked, feeling was mutual. She never had that pleasure again

Marian that's the third post of mine that you have picked through on this thread and answered in an effort to wind me up,dont worry climb on my back as much as you wish you will not faze me.I could come back on with snide remarks just like yourself but I have to much self respect to allow myself to come down to your nasty little level. I can see what it is with you,you think on this site that you have the whole site behind you and you can say what you want to a member and should they retaliate the weight of the whole site would come down on that person. You are not much older than my eldest son and thank God for the good upbringing he had he would never think of speaking to people older or younger in the way in which you do.

Wasn't it a scouse comedian who said 'calm down! calm down!' lets all not get too personal, we can have our disagreements without it descending into that, come on boys and girls it is Sunday and we are getting near Christmas and the spirit of goodwill, keep the discussions/arguments going but keep to the Queensbury rules

#127, "climb on my back".......You flatter yourself Jim, truth be known wouldn't touch you with a barge pole, though if you were near enough would certainly be tempted to swing it. You are always counting Jim. You took me to task one time for "liking" other folks posts!!! People on here think for themselves. My comments on your posts are simply that and if you perceive them to be in a snide manner that's your interpretation. As for respect Jim that has to be earned in my books....I take people as I find them and YOU are nothing like MY father. To insinuate that my upbringing lacked decorum is rather rich. Have no intention of having a slanging match with you Jim have said my piece in response to yours.

Ivan you are totally correct the thread was going along with good banter and no hard feelings between Cappy Brian and myself with the odd post from RLT and Louis the fly,all putting our points of view across and of course we disagreed with each other that's what its all about.Nothing anybody could take exception to and no snide comments and then you get an unqualified remark "with an attitude like yours you wouldn't have been an asset to the company" whats that all about, and that was just for starters.Calm down,Calm down,is right Ivan I've got more todo with my time any time of the year not just at Christmas and I'm just off out now for a nice few pints in good company for a bit of the craic.
