Re: The plan to destroy the uk
The rest of the European Union should not underestimate the U.K. They are acting like we have no clout and given everything away, We have voted out of the E.U. Club not the European Continent, And we still have very different relations with the U.S.A. And most of the former colonies that the rest of Europe don,t have. The British Royal Family are still well respected all over the world we have covered the backs of a lot of our friends and allies sine 1945 it is something that will never be forgotten by many, And a lot of in fact the majority of the rest of the E,U, Where out of sight not to be seen. We may feel alone in Europe right now but don,t for one minute think we are alone in the world underestimate the Brits at your peril we have a proven track record. Terry.

Re: The plan to destroy the uk
The issue of the UK constitution as opposed to that of Oz is that the UK one is not a written one but one basedf on common law and parliamentary statutes.
There is as I understand a two year period for system 50 to be implimented for UK to exit.
Two years in politics is a life time so I do not expect any major changes to your life style for some time.
I also tend to agree with the sentiment that there will still be some form of tie to EU for the purpose of trade and freedom of movement of workers. You mat however get back border control.
But as Ted tells it UK has a lot of friends around the world.
Even the republican movement here will not move on it while the queen is still alive, there would be a 'no go' result if they tried. The Royal family is too popular here for that.

Happy daze John in Oz.

Re: The plan to destroy the uk
Hi Brian.
Read you into the wrong post, apologies. But my observation about Murdock being pissed about not being recognized with a Gong is I think his reason for his hatred of the UK in general, he should have been imprisoned for what he allowed to happen over that young girl.
Cheers Des

Re: The plan to destroy the uk
Des, Murdoch is Australian and comes under the Australian honours system which I believe goes as far as the AM might be wrong, which is the equivilant to a CBE, this would have to come from the PM of Australia. Don't know if the knighthoods put forward by previous PM is still in vogue or not. As far as I know the only knight is the past Queens Rep. who Abbott made up. Must be lonely being one of not many others. Some time ago I was at a function where one of those present had his name printed on his place card at the dining table. It was his name and at the end of it was A.O.M. RFD, I understood the first part but the nearest I could get to the RFD was Royal Flying Doctor, so I asked him if that was correct, no he said it stands for Reserve Forces Decoration. So I then was as wise as him. JWS

Our Murdoch is now eligible for bugger all. He now has a USA passport so he had to give up his Australian nad British nationality to get it.

Re: The plan to destroy the uk
I now see the UKIP man is gone, anotherone bails out! They are falling like sheep at the slaughter house, who next I wonder?
Why is he going, surely I would have thought he would stay to the very end.
But then again maybe he also knos the song.
Hotel California close to the end the line,
'You can check out any time you like, but you can never leave'!
Maybe the EU song?

Re: The plan to destroy the uk
Hi John
He is still a UKIP MEP in Brussels. until we finally come out in two years. He said he is not a career Politician and has achieved what he set out to do, that is to get Britain out of Europe. He knows of all the Corruption that goes on there and has exposed it.
He has just resigned his leadership of the Party. Then he will go back to his own career in Finance. I like him better than all the Pollies we have.
Cheers
Brian

Re: The plan to destroy the uk
#27 He set up the UKIP party in 1991 because he was fed up with EC rules and corruption with one goal in mind to get the UK out of the EEC he has achieved that object, he remains an MEP until our actual exit and just as well he does, because he will take them to task if they start playing silly buggers, he has quite a few backers from other countries. Many say he is also on the gravy train, but in my opinion he has to stay on it until the last possible moment as he knows the working and machinations of the system and can best protect our interests in the time of transition and he will certainly take our own MPs to task if they start to falter

Re: The plan to destroy the uk
Wolfgang Shauble is now saying in the light of Brexit, things need to change radicle in the EU , And quick.maybe, just maybe, if they had listened to our proposals, and not just given David Cameron the crumbs of the table, and promised real reform, possible would have been a different result in the referendum. Anyone with sense would have expected rumbles in our economy at first, but if we stayed in , in its current form, there will be an earthquake, so great we are out, kt
