Re: Things you have but never used
We have an old fashioned woollen quilt my mother made just about 1950.Mam draped it over her knees on winter nights whilst listening to the radio and later watching TV. Joy will not have it in our living room as it spoils the décor.( my mam knew bugger all about décor), so it sits in the spare room totally ignored; shame.

#2, I'd sneak it in gradually Neil, your argument being it's not Dr Crane's ["Frasier"]father's tatty old armchair

Re: Things you have but never used
My garage is full to the gunnels with totally useless junk. I cannot get in there to sort it, been there for many many years,
H&S would not allow anyone in there, so my sons can sort it out when I snuff it.

Re: Things you have but never used
I have just been in my garage with a Safety Helmet on and steel toe capped work boots and thick leather glove, I have No goggles.
I have just found THREE Anchor Lights, I do not remember where I got those from, but I have never used them since I retired 20 years ago. I found Three Life buoys, still do not remember where they were from and still had no need to use them in Bolton..
and a Bag full of Gauges off ships. and a Brass plate from an engine room telegraph.
I had to come out as it was getting dangerous in there. Things were falling on me as I tried to uncover stuff.
Brian.

Re: Things you have but never used
I had a large whisky and went back into my garage,
I have found a small sheet anchor, I have had no need of it in the last 25 years, I remember that I bought it in a Pub in Southampton. I also found a Fid, a Marlin Spike my dad made for me in 1952 in the Blacksmiths shop.
Two Palms, a roll of sail makers yarn and a few needles. A coil of nylon rope, Two Safety Helmets and a helmet I took from a dead Foreign Legionnaire in 1955 when we evacuated the Legion from the beach in Viet Nam.
But for all the Rubbish it is like Alice in Wonderland in there. In over 20 years I have never seen or used one item.
There is more but I cannot face going in there again for a long time.
