Default I found this in my shed

I was emptying my garden shed after many years of accumulating rubbish.
I found a Life Buoy off one of my old ships, name and port of registry still painted on.
I cannot remember travelling up the line from London or Southampton carrying a Life Buoy,
I must have looked daft on the day dragging a case and a lifebuoy on a train.

Has anyone else done something like that ??

I once found a stockless anchor in Arenas in Spain, it was on the dockside and having just paid off I took it home with me on the Plane to Heathrow and then on the train up North again dragging an anchor, it was quite heavy. Again I must have looked a bit daft checking in on a flight with an anchor.
I had it as a feature in my garden for several years until the gypos nicked it one weekend along with a four foot diameter propeller I had found up in Scotland.
    Cheers
    Brian.

I once brought a frozen salmon back from Japan - it was huge, about 12 kilos. After paying off at the KG5 dock four of us, the radio officer, a mate, myself and another engineer caught the Euston - Glasgow express as far as Preston. I wrapped this frozen salmon up with lots and lots of newspaper to try and keep it frozen on the 9 hour train trip as far as Fleetwood. I put this fish in the overhead luggage rack above the seat next to me. This seat was eventually occupied by a male passenger who sat absolutely motionless in his seat for the whole journey, I think this guy was too scared to move to another carriage at the sight of these seafarers knocking back a docking bottle of scotch and playing stud poker for real money. Not long into the journey this fish started to thaw out and drip onto this passenger sat underneath, I think he was just too scared to move ! By the time we got to Preston the poor man looked like he had just come out of the shower !! Regards Peter in NZ.

Rather small garden and no shed, do have a back passage, hence somewhere to stuff the rubbish. Can expect what may occur. Wheely bin careful.

As I sat at the traffic lights, a policeman drove up beside me and said; "Step out please, sir".

"Is there a problem, officer?" I replied.

"I have reason to believe you're drunk, sir." He said.

"Drunk?!" I laughed. "I'm just an honest, hard working bloke trying to get home".

"Well sir." He replied. "You're not going to get very far in that wheelie bin, are you?"

Once in my ignorance in 1971 or thereabouts had walked away from a ship in Japan, I had bought an ornate sword in India and was carrying this in my hand as hand luggage. On entering the airport a figure jumped in front of me in the posture of a self defence expert shouting Hieeeeee. Good job it was in the 70"s and not now, as would probably shoot first and ask questions later. Left this memento in England when left as didn't want people to think I was a would be terrorist. JS

    HI Keith.
I do hope you don't go stuffing things up your back passage, could get a bit uncomfortable.
Sorry, the Strange one is on a cruise, or he would have served this up.
    Cheers Des
