Re: Jeremy Clarkson....
I agree Jim, but the cold fact is that it is a criminal charge for assault and both of them should have been charged, and had it been anyone else they would have. There are lots of cases where eggs have been thrown, and people charged, but that occasion they would have had to charge Prescott as well. In my opinion two thugs running up against one another, KT

Re: Jeremy Clarkson....
Keith with respect the fact you were talking about JP is the reason I had to mention him.Anyone who throws an egg at someone no matter who it is on the receiving end has the right to turn around and give that person a good smack as far as I am concerned. It doesn't bother me what their politics are they don't deserve tobe egged by some yob it is a most despicable act that the yob knows from a distance it's a good laugh to him without any chance of being arrested.Keith if somebody beats me up and I don't wish to press charges there is nothing the police can do about it.It happens every day with wife beaters the wife/ partner drops all charges and that's the end of it.
Regards.
Jim.B.
PS.As I said politics shouldn't come in it but if Maggie would've hit him with her handbag would you have said he deserved it and Maggie is not a thug.

Re: Jeremy Clarkson....
Fair enough Jim, we will have to agree to disagree, but we await with interest the case of Clarkson, apparently an online protest calling for him to be reinstated by the BBC, one of them has to eat crow, KT

Re: Jeremy Clarkson....
Irrespective of politics, in most companies striking someone with their fists, could be classified as gross misconduct. Other companies may classify it as misconduct. If misconduct, if first offence a warning would be issued, a second warning a final written warming issued, third time sacked. If the incident is classified as gross misconduct, a sacking offence
As Clarkson was issued with a final warning a year ago, he must be sacked.

Re: Jeremy Clarkson....
Clarkson is a freelance, self employed presenter, who makes £millions for the BBC, his contract is due any time now to either be agreed upon or renegotiated, so what are the Beeb to do?over 200,000 have already signed a petition onhis behalf, and other broadcasters are hovering close by to sign him up! I have not likedhim since he fenced off Langness lighthouse on the Isle of Man,as he said walkers could see into his kitchen, when he lived on the Island.

Re: Jeremy Clarkson....
As i have said, Clarkson, and the BBc are not the real players, money is the main card, if they are all to lose multi money a way round it woilll be found, KT

Re: Jeremy Clarkson....
By 10pm over half a million people have signed a petition in his favour! Don't think it's outcome really matters as I'm sure more than "Sky" are sniffing around. Did enjoy his programme last year on the Arctic Convoys mainly because it once again brought to the attention how these heroic seamen courted death. Something for the younger generation to ponder on.
As an aside felt Mr Prescott should have received that egg like any other politician has
. Have to be honest though did enjoy the spectacle
