Re: Bank Password.
We are always advised, quite rightly, not to reveal our bank details, PIN numbers and passwords.
Stating publicly that you have used your bank password on this forum is not heeding good advice.

Re: Bank Password.
With on-line banking Brian you can check your balance every day if you wish so you can keep your eye on it before it go's to far if you were being scammed and not have to wait a month before you know.

Hi Jim
I go in the bank every Thurday and get a print out also if I need anything checking either paid in or out, I just phone them The same girl is always on the phone, she recognises me, but I still have to give my password, date of birth, mothers maiden name then she gives me the information. I feel safer that way.
Cheers
Brian

Re: Bank Password.
..................I'm not even going to try, it's your money not mine you're putting at risk and I don't have the inclination or resources to separate you from it, but there are certainly those who would try!

Re: Bank Password.
Brian my password is not that important to on-line banking there are another two sets of figures that you would have to know.It is surprising how Santander Security are on the ball they know if any unusual activity is taking place.when I was in the branch the other week someone was trying to buy an i.player in a shop the security new it was an unusual purchase for the customer it turned out it was a stolen card which the shop was told to retain.

Re: Bank Password.
Just remember Capt
As like online Banking which to me is quite safe (well lets hope so) the same goes for Phone Banking,as calls can also be traced and hacked into,so really there is no real way of staying safe!
In fact as long as you have your Computer correctly setup with a good Security program, the Banks also have things in place to avoid any hacking!
So to me Online is a bit safer than the Phone!
Just my thoughts!
Touch wood thus far over the Years I have had Online Banking ,nothing has gone amiss!
The Commonwealth Bank here seems quite safe for that!
Cheers

Re: Bank Password.
I do all my banking either by direct debit or on line. Yesterday recieved all new cards from the bank to meet with new standards of privacy introdued here on August 1st. Tap and Go up to $100 but insurance companies will no longer be allowed to do direct debiting of your account unless it is for monthly payments. Annual ones can no longe be done this way. Only such items as for some reason the details for them cannot be encrypted in the manner thta all other details can. Spent an hour on the phone with insurance company while it was all explained.
