Social History
May appeal to one or two.
This is an interesting wee film on the miners of Drumlemble, Campbeltown.

One of the former miners mentioned in the film is a volunteer at the Heritage Centre
there.

Re: Social History
Interesting Marian, never knew there was a mine there.
Machrihanish Bay I recall as being a beautiful sweep of golden sandy beach and did there not used to be an RAF station there. Paul McCartney's weed growing farm was also near there as well if I recall right.
Only visited Campbeltown a couple of times just to take mother to see one of her friends from her stay there during WW2 and also once when my future wife and myself were touring up the West Coast on a camping holiday and treated ourselves to a night in a hotel there, the one with the creaking floorboards.

Re: Social History
John, There is now a caravan park above the ground of the mine.
White Hart Hotel still going.
RAF base gone, houses now sold to locals or holiday homes.
