Re: First winter storms
everyone seems to be talking about their weather, so here is my pennysworth,
here on the plains of canada (Winnpeg) they are forcasting a high of -25 on friday with a nightime temp. of -28. these numbers do not include the windchill that is expected to drop the temp. down to around -35.
anyone want to swap?
we do not usually get these temp. until the end of december, they came a bit early this year along with a snowfall that has finaly let up after 2 days of comming down. not a bit of greenery anywhere. our cities main roads were all cleaned over night so people could get to work, side roads will be done tonight.
I had to clean out my car this morning, I picked up my son from the airport late last night and he opened the window of the car, when I parked last night and plugged it in, i didn`t see the window partly open and a lot of snow accumalated on the wifes seat (about 2ft), of course when she got a wet seat it was all my fault.
I ask again anyone want to swap?

Some people have all the luck
weather we pay a fortune for to risk our necks going downhill on a couple of sticks for fun looking like a stuffed toy in our Aldi winter gear and a beautiful young wife to boot.

Re: First winter storms
Arrived back at Glasgow Wednesday morning from New York right in the middle of the storm. The pilot circled round for a while and then attempted a landing which went down O.K. However we could not disembark as the ground staff could not connect the ramp because of the high winds and they could'nt open the cargo doors in the hold to unload the baggage as they were afraid the doors would be blown off. Had to sit on the aircraft for an hour and a half before we could disembark only to be met with mile long queues at the homeland security. Needless to say was glad to get back home after an enjoyable couple of weeks. Now for Christmas!!
Regards
John
