Re: First winter storms
Not UK but!
Supposed to be first Week of Summer here, only to have a week of such contrasting Weather!
From nice warm Sun and a top of 30dgrees on Monday, then High Winds and Storms on Tuesday, still warm though. Wed, brought not too bad a day almost normal, then Yesterday we had Heavy Rain,Gale force Winds up to 90kmh (not as bad as Scotland) with Temps plummeting down to 3.5 Degrees, like Winter again, Today Friday,Winds still strong up here in the Mountains, but clear skies, its nearly 8.40am and still only 4.6 Degrees !Winds make it feel like Minus that!
Seems like the Weather patterns are changing all over the World! And predictions are for it to just get worse!
Oh well that's life I suppose!
Cheers
Keep safe and Warm (and cool if you are in too hot a spot)Lol!

Re: First winter storms
Black Pearl pirate ship will be rebuilt after being sunk by storms:
The artist behind the Black Pearl driftwood pirate ship on New Brighton beach says it will be rebuilt, after it was destroyed by storms.
Frank Lund, who along with Major Mace built the driftwood pirate ship which had become a popular attraction on Wirral, said the resort looked "wrecked".
He said: "The whole of New Brighton is wrecked, covered in litter and debris, from rubbish, bits of polystyrene, to lumps of rock pulled off the groynes by the waves.
"Benches have been picked up out of the park and left lying around.
"So many roads are closed off because they're covered in debris, including big boulders from the groynes. It's a bit bonkers.
"The Black Pearl went out to sea and sailed off in pieces. We could see her sailing away for quite a while - we must have watched her for half an hour.
