G'day Alf, think you may be corrcet about that cafe. But you must have known a mate of mine who had been in the army M.P. Never bought a new car tyre in his life, Find a new car and chnage his spare for one of the new cars. It was a lot easier back then in the 60's than today as most of the newer models have locking nuts. Just cant have any fun any more.
    Happy daze John in Oz.

Hi Paco {The Chopper} and The young Mrs Mae, hi shipmates'" Wheres' The bill " ? if you worked on the dock Cardiff like my mate Laurie 35 years, you would know that every job had a bill, or how much you would be pay for working that Cargo all ships had a prices' Bones', Dirty cargo top money, fruit good money ,wood good money, steel good money, coal very good money , and "Gold bars' for the dockers wages"? . Every month the bills were done or how much would you be getting payed, your name and number was on it so you would know how much you had to live on married men? or how much spend on drink single men. But there were only two copys and were given on a first come fisrt served basics' at the paymaster office the quickest docker got the bill, and would hide it from the rest of the dockers'? or not but word would be leaked to mates' in the pub later after a few beers .

    Hi Louis.
There was a cop on the gate in Cardiff docks known as the RAT. He stopped me a few times. But he only caught me once, I was a packet of twenty smokes over the limit and he took them. Dispite them being opened and a fag missing. He got his just deserts though he fell in the dock, whilst on patrol one night. But the bugger could swim.

Thumbs down Two rules one for them and one for us

Hi Geoff our kid, Cardiff docks was a tough place to get things out, unless you were a docker, us sea going types' had to be extra clever to get stuff home' . book a taxi and leg it, before the custom came was the best one with full suitcase.

    Default Luton boys chior

talking about dockers there used to be a gang of them who worked on all the ships with unloading the most expensive cargos. All the loot they called it and they nick named them the luton boys chior they never went short of anything.
This is some of the names they had for each other, one of them lifted a box from the hold and when he opened it there was 150 singlets in it so they called him Lord Vesty.some of the other names they had where the destroyer(because he was always looking for subs) The lenient judge ( Let that guy go)
The frightend fish.(mind that hook lads) oil cloth (He was always on the floor)
