Re: Viking long ship.
Hi Louis mi amigo.
If you want to experience all that go to Lerwick in January for a few days at the Up Haliar festival.
They sail a Longship into the harbour and haul it up into the square and then the Vikings shoot flaming arrows into it and burn it, then the fun begins. When I was there staying at the Queens Hotel I was given a bottle of whisky by a Viking, full gear on, and then they charge around town, with axes and swords, everyone gets bottles of whisky, into various halls and party and dance then charge around to another one and so on, I had a Vikings helmet on complete with horns, don't know what happened to the Viking, Everyone was very legless, after three days non stop of this, I lost my jacket and convered in snow staggered back to my hotel after trying to get into other hotels as I had forgoptten where I was. The Girl there said I was dying of hyperthermia, and took me to my room and put me in a hot shower to warm up.,
A great three days night out.
Brian.
