Re: Gyro Compass trouble
Enjoyed reading the experts opinions on Gyros / Giros / With a Gyro of course you had to keep your head, With a Giro you also had to keep your head with the DHSS. Especially if your missis was in the queue in the local chippie, And it hadn't arrived. Q, What other ship had an electrical room that contained Master Gyro compass, Also carried a very powerful searchlight, Radio room/ Sleeping Quarters/ Bth mess areas for Officers and Crew, Just as any Seagoing vessel for navigation purposes, And mooring ropes, But she was never designed or entered any sea water or canal at all

Re: Gyro Compass trouble
A new 1st trip Cadet joined my ship, he was on the Bridge for sailing, `What shall I do"? he asked. I gave him the Bell Book and said look after that, After we were full away I looked and nothing was in there, No times, movements or positions, I said why have you not filled it in, ? He said `You said Look after it and I did `. He had just stood there standing guard over it.
Cheers
Brian

Re: Gyro Compass trouble
The only Gyro I know is a Greek Sandwich. Ground meat, onions, tomato, French fries, tsatkiki sause, combined and rolled into grilled pita bread.
So what do I know, I was in Catering.
Cheers, Rodney
