I was on the Hadriana 10 years earlier. Joined her at Eastham Locks as ass/steward. Good single berth accommodation and good feeder. Can't recall anything about the voyage.

Re: Shell "H" boats
I was second cook and baker on the Haustrum, joined her in Curacao 18th June 61 to 1st December 1961. She was a good ship. I sailed out to Curacao as supernumary 2ndCook/Baker on the Achatina. She was an absolutely beautiful looking ship. The reason I went out there was the 2ndcook/baker on the Haustrum died on board and was taken off in Capetown. I spent 2 weeks on CUracao waitong for her to arrive. I stayed at the Salvation Army while I was there and had a wonderful time. The family running the SA treated me like family, nothing but praise for the Sallyan.

Re: Shell "H" boats
I stand to be corrected but I sailed wirh Eagle Oil Shipping Co. for my first few yeas at sea and when Shell bought them out or took over them (I dont know which) i understand that all the San 'F' Boats were eventually renamed as 'H' Boats for the Shell Fleet. The similar Dutch Shell Fleet were the 'K'. Boats.

I sailed as a deck boy (first trip) on the Harvella in 1957 after Gravesend. Great memories. South America, West Indies and Mediterranean.
Met a girl in Ellesmere Port and left to get married. 58 years now!

Re: Shell "H" boats
I sailed on the Haminella from Shellhaven in 75 as a deck cadet. When I first seen her I was not sure if the rust would survive getting out of the Thames. Left in my home Port of Dublin. She was a right old rust bucket and not a lot of stuff worked midships but still very fond memories
