    As stated by Doc Vernon she was a well designed ship but the sickly green colour
    of her superstructure was a constant source of complaint.

    Apparently the Company wouldn't or couldn't change the colour because the Monarch as mentioned by
    'Red Lead Ted' had launched the ship.

    Its a pity because I saw her a few years later under the Greek flag and she was painted white with a
    blue funnel and she looked impressive.

    its strange how some ships got a bad name, someone posted a thread and said it was mainly catering Dept, ? ER was OK, was it because of accomodation or work practise, i believe Dominion Monarch was not good to sail on, once getting a bad name it seemed to stick. i sailed on some chatty ships, but found it was the crew who made or broke the ship. some were really basic with food and accomodation, but a good crew made them happy ships.
