Lori anyone who could in all truth say yes I knew your father would have to be your father himself. There is insufficient information in your request, 1. Your fathers name, 2. Was he a merchant seaman, 3. What ships did he sail on 4. all relevant information re discharge books etc. Judging by your particulars age etc. There is a strong possibility that there are people on site that may be able to help. Welcome to the site. Post your fathers name and if possible some of the ships names that he sailed on, You could be surprised someone on site may have sailed with him.

No Wingvist recorded at the NA Kew as far as i can tell?
Was he a Merchant Seaman and when! If after 1972 the there will be no record!

He's name is Kenneth Wingvist, he would be about 72 by now, he was living in Kent England

I did look again and no name like that comes up,it s however possible as I said that if he was still at Sea after 1972 then there would be no records.
Do you know if that was the case??
