Question
Sorry its not MN related, didn't know where to post.
Nottingham is going through a major upheaval due to the works associated with the new tram installation.
Majority of the works on one side have a corrugated steel panels with a pipe running along the top.
About every 18" on the pipe there is an orifice which continually discharges a vapour along the length of the workings.
Any idea what the vapour does?

Re: Question
The tram works also coincides with new sewer and new cables , from the utility companies , I am assuming the corrugated sheets go in to the trench for these to prevent trench collapse . I have no idea what the vapour is , except if the pipe is about an inch to two inch diameter , they may be running an air pipe from a centralised compressor top keep the noise down , and as such may have automatic drains every few feet of length
