    Default Port Pirie

Hi. I joined the Port Pirie straight from the Vindi as Galley Boy from 28th April 1964 until March 1965, it has always been one of my most favourite ships that I have ever sailed on ( and I have been on a few, 22 years at sea ) Hope that you meet some friends that you sailed with. Still no one can remember me?? Take care....... Terry.

G'day Dennis and welcome to the site. Do you have any other information thta might stir a few memoreis, any dates to go with the ships. If you have and can list them there is a good chance you may hear from some one who knew you. So sit back with a cold one and enjoy the voyage. Lived just up the road from Lewisham in Lee Green.
    Happy daze John in Oz.

Hello Stan, i was on Port Pirie November 1963 to October 1964 as deck boy (fresh out of the Vindi) plus JOS. The captain was Capt Harry Conby - a gentleman. What department were you? Cannot recall your name. If we were on the same trip then perhaps you can jog my memory with some event or other. Best wishes Graham Mcglone

I was on Port Pirie 9-12-67 until 21 April 1968, Port pirie will always remain my favourite ship, Very good Crowd on Board , the Bar was built on that trip, and for a pretty old ship we even had Air Conditioning in the accomadation, We had a wonderful crew Deck Catering and Engine, we did Fiji Australia New Zealand. It was a very happy ship. Glenn Baker Australia
