    Default port adelaide

Hi folks. im Mac, just jouned your forum.
Iv never sailed under the red duster, im a model builder and m just finishing
off a model of " Port Adelaide " and thougnt you may like to see her on her
    first sea trials.
She sits very well, shes 2 mtrs long and carries 50 pounds of balast to give
a good posture in the water ==[IMG][IMG][/IMG][/IMG]

She needs a little more power but that will be a job for the winter months.
    kind regards

My first 2 trips were on the Port Adelaide in 68/69. She had lost her main mast by then and carried goalposts
which looked a lot better. As i recall no'4 hatch had a crane it was big Donalds pride and joy.Nice one.
    Happy sailing. Deckboy.

Hi Deckboy , i wonder you could help me with the finishing of the model of Adelaide,
at the moment the hatch covers are painted grey, can you recall the correct color
    of these hatches.
I hope to put the finishing touches to the ship over the coming winter.
If there any other details you can recall that would aid the detailing of the model
as i only have a black and white line drawing of the ship, this dose not show, colol
    or fine detail .
    Mant thanks in advance
    kind regards

    Default Port Adelaide....

Hi Mac P. I've only ever known MacGregor steel hatch covers to be painted grey, and I can't see Port Line being any different ? ..... they look grey in the attached picture too.

Thanks very much gents, the next job is to get it looking less like a model, { too pristine } and more like a working ship, lots of junk and stuff on the decks, ill post more when finnished.
    regards
    Mac P
