Wreck of HMS Hawker discovered
The wreck of HMS Hawker, which collided with the Olympic (sister to the Titanic) in Southampton, has been discovered some 70 miles east of Fraser borough.
Hit by a single torpedo fired from U9, she caught fire and sunk with only about 70 out of over 500 of her crew surviving. Her sinking in 1914 caused a rethink into the dangers the U boats threatened to shipping.
Apparently much of her mahogany wood decks and much of her hull and armaments are visible and intact.

Re: Wreck of HMS Hawker discovered
It's amazing the number of ships that have sunk that are now being discovered, better electronics I suppose, a couple of weeks ago they discovered an Australian coaster that sunk in 56, I think she was the Noongah, or close to that. They interviewed the son of the Chief officer who wasn't saved; he saw his father off as the sailed from Newcastle to Queensland with a cargo of steel, the son was studying for his seconds ticket.

Remember Noah’s Ark story of being printed in press by some enterprising Journalist being discovered in the mountains of some middle eastern country.
Or were they just stories put out on April the first. JS

There is a TV series Draining the Oceans. It has been running for sometime. Great to watch if you can find it.

Hi John. If this down loads it will give you an idea of how it's made. Wikipedia and I not been seeing eye to eye of late.

Hi Bill.
No worries mate, West Aus is a little behind the times, it was on TV here in N.S.W.about four or five years ago, but like John we like watching Escape to the Country, would never think of buying one of those 500 year old homes with ships beams holding the roof up but.
