#9 see the Bermuda Triangle gets a mention. Apart from the large loss of shipping in the area , there has also been aircraft in earlier years to add to the so called mystery. Most seafarers of today could give a plausible theory to the reason and that is it is on every Mercator chart of the area Warning exceptional magnetic Anomolies exist in this area , and as most of the disappearnces of vessels and aircraft was in the era of magnetic compasses that in itself is reason enough for me. Hi John.
Talking about things that happened a few year ago and on TV, On Sunday there was film of the war in Malaya, at the time, they where interviewing ex soldiers, and it reminded me of an incident that happened to me and a mate of mine there.
We had not long arrived in Malaya , can't remember the port, we were on the RFA Wave Baron and we decided to go ashore for a drink, as we walked up this unmade road, a group of British soldiers came charging out of the jungle yelling a shouting and they charged into the jungle the other side,, then this officer came over and shouted , "What th hell do you think you are doing? we are fighting a war here, we told him we had just arrived and was going up to find a drink, he creamed get aback on your ship, and he ran off after his platoon. We carried on had a few drinks then decided to go back.
In this film I recognized the same road we had walked along, , hell we didn't know it at the time but we where lucky to get back to the ship. I was a hell of a war.

And they were national servicemen Des mostly 18-20 year olds. JS

Des, there are many places in the world now where there is some form of conflict going on.
You will only find that out when you enter the capital town.
But by then it may be too late.

I'm sure in one of those programs it showed a load of what looked like huge cut stones and a long wall somewhere in the Atlantic that they thought my have been the lost City of Atlantis, but can't remember the name of the Tv series.
