Yeah...I get your point regarding "white collar" crime...but hey!.... All those in Westminster? all those corrupt councilors in local Government....you'd need a thousand Bibby Stockholm's!

And...it gets worse... What about the "Stockholm Syndrome"? Where would it end? Take care.
Steve , Bibby's had at least 2 Barges based in New York for several years. They were converted to detention/prisons and were on charter to the City of New York for all I know they may well still be there.
Concerning the use of Barges as accommodation for refugees the city of Hamburg had or has at least 6 such like barges housing 600+ refugees per barge in 4 berth cabins. I did a spell on the Bibby Endevour as a relief Barge master. The accommodation was made from Containers and fitted out as 4 berth units.
There food was bussed in and that was there only luxury no fancy TV lounges or gyms. Worked for the Germans and also worked for the USA on their Prison barges.
As a temporay measure absolutley nothing wrong in putting non violent prisoners on the likes of the Bibby Stockholm and free up much needed prison space.

Pease do not start with politics we all know fine well how that will end up.

#101 I think we are all guilty of that, being ex mariners we all gained insights to all things wrong in countries we visited Eg. S**t hole , the Armpit of the world , To expensive , corrupt etc.etc. after a brief visit .Some on here have an opinion almost on everything , though they look at things through the prism of what was their life experience of many years ago. That’s how the cookie crumbles .I know I am guilty of that my son keeps telling me the world is not as it was and he has travelled a lot more than me.

Blair started it all with his headlong rush to " look after" the Labour voting working classes in UK - by importing cheap labour and forcing the UK to become a multi cultural society. He really knew how to look after the dullards that voted for him. I read last year that he was actually caught saying "The multi-culture experiment isn't working". No sh*t Sherlock !!!
And did anyone else read that a adult male at Belfast Airport was arrested for handing out anti-invader leaflets. As Richard Littlejohn used to say, "You couldn't make it up, we're going to Hell in a handcart". The muppets in power who pretend to want the invasion stopped - take a leaf out of Orban's playlist. The EUSSR are trying to force Hungary to accept more invaders or they will fine them. Great response from Orban - "If the EUSSR want more invaders then we'll send trainloads of them to Brussels, with free one way tickets". Absolutely brilliant. If only our political buffons had thought of that, the UK wouldn't be in it's current situation.

Gino , do you enjoy British produce? No migrants a shortage of fresh fruit & veg. Producers have been complaining since 2016 , a shortage of fruit & Veg pickers.

James, who said we don't need migrants? But there's a right way and a wrong way and sure as God made little apples none of our overpaid, cosseted and protected political pointy heads living in their ivory towers, haven't been doing it right. My beef isn't with legal migration it's with illegal invasion. And those seasonal migrants traditionally ain't put up in hotels at tax payers expense. I'm sure if we'd had idiots like Blair and Starmer in power in 1939, permitting daily boatloads of invaders in then ve vould all be speaking German now. Recently Two-Tier Starmer was trumpeting about the illegals he'd sent back to Vietnam. FORTY of them. Meanwhile how many boatloads are coming in weekly?? 1000s.

I'm starting to get a bit confused here, I know Blair was only in for his own and his wife's slice of the pie. But I didn't know that Stammer has been in power for the last ten years of overwhelming Illegal immigration?

James, even Blind Freddy can see what is happening in UK.
We take bus rides around some of our old haunts of many hears ago, the difference sticks out like the preverbal.
I have relis there who also see what is going on, we do get news here in the colonies as well so not hard to put the puzzle together.
Three visits in the last three years and each time we see a change, and not for the better.
    Happy daze John in Oz.

The world is forever changing John. No doubt you see a change in major cities in Australia. Not that long ago there was that horrific incident Westfield Bondi Mall that left 6 dead including the attacker.

So what about these bunch of fine up standing immigrants?

On 11 December 2005 over 5,000 mostly Anglo-Australians assembled at Cronulla in Sydney’s south to ‘reclaim the beach from outsiders’. Violence erupted as the crowd attacked people of Middle Eastern appearance, sparking two further days of rioting.

Um!!! we are a few years behind then with your mobs.
