Interesting this morning when Richard Tice was being interviewed he was asked if Nigel Farrage would be standing ah !!!! no. Now one wonders if he has his eye on a job working for Donald Trump

#200 David not on this particular subject but don’t know if asked before , when in Athol tankers did you sail with an engineer called Candiotis from North Shields.? He was badly burned on one of their ships and joined Dalglieshes about the same time as me in in 1964. I never heard the full story about the damage he bodily sustained . But he nearly suffered a similar fate on a Sept Isles voyage where I was having a trip off fortuanetley. The ship had to put into St. John’s Newfoundland where the whole engine crew had to get medical attention. The second time he was chief engineer and they had a crank case explosion with the doors off. Have often wondered about the first explosion on the Athel tanker as he never talked about it. Cheers JS.
