Oil prices currently in decline, prices steady or rising, makes no difference to the fuel sellers.

A gunboat is currently on the way from the Marshall Islands to protect the flag, or will that fall to the RN or USA from Bahrain bases.

The Marshall Islands registry is run by a US owned company based in Virginia, same company that used to run the Liberian registry until their man started demanding too much dash.
The Liberian flag is now run by another different US company.

Jim, you need to do a correction there on #5 The gun boat comment was posted by Ivan.
But I did find Ivans comment amusing.

Re: Iranian Navy seize Tanker
Now the USA have confiscated a ship carrying Iranian oil, yet again great reporting by a maritime expert.
https://www.msn.com/en-gb/news/world...7ea7fdaf&ei=14
An oil tanker loads gas in Assaluyeh seaport at the Persian Gulf, 1,400 km (870 miles) south of Tehran, Iran May 27, 2006.
any old photo will do just as long as it is a ship. Must admit it looks more like an oil tanker than a Gas carrier to me.

Just read the article in full.
In 2020, Washington confiscated four cargoes of Iranian fuel aboard foreign ships that were bound for Venezuela and transferred them with the help of undisclosed foreign partners onto two other ships which then sailed to the US.
I am normally pro US but the above surely is piracy?
