Re: Smart Meters
Here in Oz they have not missed a trick as well with tariffs higher during peak times. Might be okay for those working but for the olds during a heat wave the costs go right up unless they go and sit in a shopping centre during the day (which a lot do). When the contract feed in tariff for my solar finished a while ago now it took a long time to get the supplier to change me to nett metering (I use my own power when available during the day) which I pay for any power that I use to top up my needs. Do not know if those members in Oz know this but if you have solar and spend time during the day at home it is worthwhile well it is with me. Had a mob get in touch with me about installing battery's but when they found out how much I use the hissed of real quick. As for those having to read their meters? Have you thought of approaching your local member of the parasite party to explain that due to disabilities you are not able to read said meters and therefore are being discriminated against because of this. There must be a department within government that deals with this. I know I would be kicking up a stink here if they tried it on with me. Do not know if it would work but would have the satisfaction of trying.
That's the way the mop flops.
