Dreams
Roy Orbison - In Dreams (Black & White Night 30) - YouTube
Was sitting here listening to one of my old time Favourite songs by Roy the Boy! Now this song brings back a lot of memories to me , and also as it says in the Title In Dreams, oh such wonderful dreams i have had over the Years of Places and Faces i once knew and lived, also just visited! These kind of songs if one just sits back with Ear pods on and nothing else to disturb, really brings things to the fore!
At times Tears run down my cheeks, (No not ashamed to say that) as those memories it brings back are so real and take my entire Soul , its riviting and to me at times so so Real!
Life was once so sweet, and we know we had it all, now things are a lot different ,so at times to Dream is to bring back reality of the past!
Enjoy and i wonder what you will Dream of!

Re: Dreams
One of my favourite singers as well, he had a lot of tragic events in his life which I think is reflected in a lot of his music.

Re: Dreams
Memories and dreams, though some can be nightmares.
The other night watching TV I burst out laughing, not at the program but it jogged something in my memory.
Her in doors thought I had gone mad, nothing new there LOL.

Happy daze John in Oz.
Life is too short to blend in.

Re: Dreams
"The BIG O" one of my all time favourites, a unique voice and great songwriter. Although as been said he had much tragedy in his life all those who knew him personally said he had a wonderful sense of humour and kept them all laughing.
Music brings back memories. The early Beatles songs remind me of Aus. and Kiwi as a 16 year old deck boy and ordinary seaman. The songs of the 60's and 70's peace and love when the world was a far better place.

Re: Dreams
When you look at the Travelling Willburys group, you can see how much respect and recognition Roy had by his peers. If George Harrison, Bob Dylan, Jeff Lynn , etc want to perform with you.

I don't know what your beliefs are Ivan but perhaps you could also have Vera singing "We'll meet again".

Re: Dreams
I remember being in the West Indies during the 50ies when rock and roll was a new thing.
Ever body in the bars were up rocking and rolling. That music always takes me back to those days.

Re: Dreams
Yes indeed the best of his i think although there are a few that are really good as well.
I have the old LP 33 and a Third Vinyl , as well as quite a few others good old Records they were, also have many 45rpm ones with all the oldies!
They are making a good comeback of late, i just bought a new Record Player too.
Cheers
