You Tube videos from Pathe News UCL ships
I was looking for something else on You Tube but got sidetracked and came across several videos about UCL ships.
I will post the links hopefully they will play.

I have just played these again , there are loads of film clips showing not only UCL launches but CP & P&O ships from times gone by. More than likely these clips will have been posted by others if so I apologies in advance.
Hopefully they will open

Thanks James
Had seen the first one before, but not the second. And in fact the second one was a better one really, brought back some fond memories to me . All those lovely Sea Trips , serving the Bloods , but enjoying it as well. The Walks down through the Gardens in Cape Town, and the lovely Beaches !
Great
Cheers
Think i will Blog this Post James! No not Block! LOL

Sailed on the Pretoria as pantryman.
Saw the Transvaal when she arrived in Cape Town on her maiden voyage, she looked a bit small then.
Was I heard at one time called the Transvestite castle, be a bit more fitting today then back then.

Happy daze John in Oz.

The Stewardettes on the SA Vaal, we're a lot younger than ones shown in the film onboard Transvaal Castle

Re: You Tube videos from Pathe News UCL ships
Well after my time Vic, as when i was with UCL there were no Lady asst Stwd's
I do wonder when they started to use then though?
Like the other thing, that we had to do all the Beer and Linen Carries early Morning, do the Floor Cleaning etc, whereas i heard later they used what was known as Chain Gangs ! Must have made things a lot easier for the Stwd"s
Cheers
