At Iranian instigation the Houti rebels in Yemen have been lobbing Iranian supplied missiles and drones towards any passing ship tempting warships to fire back. My only experience of Yemen was discharging 50 tons of sanitary-ware in Aden in 1975 such an insignificant stop it was memorable. Back to the present in all the coverage of it's effect on commercial shipping avoiding the Red Sea there is minimal mention of the thoughts of China on it's trade being affected. The greatest effect will be the reduction in Suez Canal fees so why the silence from Egypt about this loss of income. Should they not be attacking the Houtis for their support of Hamas and the Palestinians after all Egypt is doing it's bit at the border with Gaza with not letting them escape the Israeli wrath.

It's all about being Islamic. A bloke I knew years ago was an Imam, a kind of preacher in the east end of London, he used to try to get me on board the religious train. He told me about what was, and wasn't a sin. Lying to a non believer was not a sin, lying to one of their own, was a sin, as was the case with most things in life.
We fell out when 9/11 happened, after he'd told me it had been a justified event, I never spoke to him again. I even asked him if he would report anyone he knew doing a similar thing, he said "only if they were non believers".
It's a culture thing, and the world will suffer for embracing certain cultures. If the balloon goes up, most of Western Europe will suffer the result.
I think I've said this on here before, apologies if I'm boring.

There are a lot of misconceptions regarding the good book of that religion.
When at the Uni we had a lecturer, from mid east and on Friday he lead prayers for students and staff who may want them.

Many a conversation with him and he always told me the whole idea of their religion was a peaceful one.
He gave no reason to doubt him and he was in my opinion genuine in what he told me.

I once spoke to him about eating Pork, which he admitted to have done.

But that is not allowed I said.

No, what the book says is you should not eat it, but if that is all there is to sustain life then you may.
Too many bad stories told about these people, who like the majority are good, but as always there is a bad apple in every barrel.

Well they don’t treat their women folk like the west , the reason for the hijab or whatever they call it is to hide a woman’s beauty from the eyes of lust of other men. They are there purely for their husbands pleasure and depending on one’s wealth one may have a few ,so a sex maniac would be in his element. Funny one rarely hears the men complaining. Most female sects are also circumcised to remove any sexual urges they have. They are there for procreation not recreation.what a wonderful religion for 50% of the population. JS

In the news today, Iran has attacked some place in Pakistan. Maybe they'll all start on each other and leave normal people alone.

I am not religious and so I can't see any difference between different religions, the ******s have theirs the Catholics have theirs and so forth, most of the leaders are not religious, otherwise the Catholic Church would be mostly empty of priests, they would be in jail for their sexual behavior to children, but are protected by their church and in some cases by their followers. Many of the ******s would be in the same place for their cruelty to their fellow men. It's why I don't believe there is a God.

    John .
I can't get over women covered in tattoo's, at one time they used to be on show in the circus, now it is one big circus.
A young Maori girl went home with a tattooed bottom lip, her picture was in the paper, people were writing in how lovely she looked!!!! to each their own I suppose.
