Been here before. We were just about where The Derbyshire went down.
Hopefully this crew can get off soon.

Hope they all get off safely, Sadly there were 27 crew lost from a barge /crane off the Hong Kong coast at the weekend.

#3 That in itself is a feat in itself and hope there was someone still on board to take the tugs lines to lessen the hazard of having to board the vessel ? The securing of the tow lines I would imagine would just be a temporary emergency of dropping eyes of ropes or wires onto bitts. JS

More than likely a wire with no rope tail . On a short nip and any sudden extra weight on is quiet easy to occur . JS

If there were still crew onboard !!! would they not have used the ETS. Or if a salvage crew got aboard her they would likely have more of an idea how to deploy the ETS.

ETS ? Hmm...no,JC , you will have to explain that abbreviation .I don't know it,or at one time did know it and ergo completely forgotten it- I'm now 32 years on terra firma. Can't find it anywhere, only quite disparate and unconnected shipping terms such as Expected Time of Sailing;Emergency Telephone Services,Enhanced Traction System,or Education and Training Services.

I suspect it is E for Emergency and S for System but don't know what the T in the middle is.
Now,having said all this I bet it's something quite simple and I'm going to be made to look really foolish !....
If you do reply, take it easy, and just whisper it please....Confused.jpg
