Ross revenge
On another thread Graham (I think) printed a list of the Ross Fishing trawlers.
The most famous one was missing the ROSS REVENGE.
1961 Launched in Germany
Dimensions 220 x 39.0 x 16.0 feet.
1963: Purchased by Ross Fisheries and renamed ROSS REVENGE.
She also took part in the Icelandic fishing wars.
1981: Bough by RADIO CAROLINEa nd converted to a Radio ship.
1987: Lost her radio mast in a hurricane.
1989: Raided by armed Government officials and various pieces of equipment smashed up.
1991: Wrecked on Goodwin Sands in a storm. Towed to Dover and impounded as she was declared unfit to sail.
Over the years she was restored and towed to various locations Southern England.
She is currently anchored in the Black Water and transmits from her studios one weekend a month.
She is now on the Historical Ships register.
