    Post Great grandfathers Navy details??

    Hi,
Have recently found the 1911 census for my great grandfather Cpt John James Wright. It states that he was in the Navy but there are some details i need help with:
After his name there are the initials EKA??
After NAVY it has some initials that look like GRQRR? ANy ideas?
It has his birth as Wigan Laridson? ANy ideas?

How would i find out which ship he served on and more details on him.

    Any help greatly appreciated.

    Regards

    Gareth

    Default Great grandfather??

    Hello Gareth

was it not perhaps ERA ??

ERA after his name - Engine Room Artificer

Also yes he was born Wigan 1911 as far as the BMD Index Shows!

    Cheers

I will keep on looking for other info!

    Ref 8c 131

Event Quarter Year Surname Given Name Age at Death District
    Births Jun 1911 WRIGHT John J Wigan 8c 131

Not too sure what the other letters are GRQRR but looks very much like some sort of secret coding!!
May be way off the mark!
Someone will know i am sure!
Comon Lads! Explanations please on those letters??
