Its about time these well fed, over dressed religious leaders of all denominations, started practicing what they preach, get rid of all their silly expensive uniforms, adornments, jewellry, land and properties sell it help the poor instead of expecting the poor to put money in their Sunday collections to swell their already overflowing coffers. Talk about a job for life without having to worry about benefits they have it made, and have the bloody cheek to preach to us!

Well all i can say lads is you are all victims of the media, The conjecture and input portrayed on these benefit britain programs are not a true reflection on ordinary working people they dont interview them, They also dont interview 1,000s of disabled people who have lived in there homes!!!!!!!!! Not houses, Homes for over 25 years where they have reared 2/3/4/ Children of there own. And most have grandchildren living around them. And because of the bedroom tax they have been left with no choice but to move away for possibly miles from there families to smaller adapted accommodation, Or find over £125 a month for this subsidy tax. If that is a fair reflection on the disabled and low paid working class in this country who happen to live north of the Watford gap. Then a lot of you see only what you want to see and not the full picture, Old Chinese saying come to mind. [ A Rising Tide Won't Lift Every Boat } Regards all Terry. p.s. Just a footnote to this reply and something for you all to think about, George Osborne has recently announced some very big spending planned for there next term in office, They are going to fill everyone with glee when are they going to announce where the next round of cuts or tax to pay for it all will fall and whose doorstep will it land on, Pensioners, Income tax rise, A hike in V.A,T, Council tax increase, Stealth tax on pensions, It has to come from somewhere because under this government growth GDP And borrowing are not as rosie as some would like to believe say it as it is and not what you it to be. Terry

Ivan, My good friend the good bishop was not preaching to us as you put it. His comments made a lot of sense, Why should all these big supermarkets throw away food when children are going hungry in this country. Forget the parents for one minute and think about the kids who are less well off than others i think they have the god given right to a meal now and again. Or are the capitalist barstewards right to skip perfectly edible food that aid charities are prepared to go and pick up and distribute to these kids surely you don't begrudge them that. Terry.

Terry his speech brings back memories of the European butter mountain or whatever it was called and shows the stupidity of governments who speak with forked tongues when such can be destroyed rather than give away to the poor. The EU has proved to me and I don't even live there how incompetent they are and how detrimental they are to some other countries ways of life. As viewed from a Russians point of view they must appear a threat to them in the future. However no one is ever allowed by the media and government for proper dialogue on the issue, all is mirrors and obtuse angles. Bring back the old days and proper government with proper representation of the peoples wishes. As regards Church people they are entitled to their own views only, when they say things with the hope that the church will give them some authenticity I stop listening, they also have a bad history. Cheers JS

To get back to the original post, I just read that a Japanese Scotch was judged the best in the world in an International competition I didn't notice any stirring in the Heather.

#45 Moktay knew that 50 years ago. Torys and Suntorys was relished by a lot of seafarers as the nearest thing they were going to see for a long time. Their Saki was alright as well and cheaper. We must have lived like lords for a few brief moments in time. Campi, Arigato, Do tushi musta. Cheers JS

Any of these mongrels who come here and take up citizenship and swear allegiance to the Queen, then go abroad and fight against Australian forces are traitors and by no means should be allowed back in to this country, there is no place for them here better they stay among their own people who have the same beliefs. Any politician who lets them back in will not be getting my vote at the next election. John S

So what is that all about. the Terrorists who went to fight in Syria/Iraq beheading people just comes back in on a boat and gets a new visa.
    Cheers

No Brian, what they get is a Tempory Protection Visa. This allows them into the country under strict regulations and while here the gov processes their claim to be genuine refugees. Those found not to be, or found that the country they came from is now safe are sent back. From figures I have seen over 50% are sent back.

Supermarkets and big stores here give their nearly out of date food to charities, they are not allowed by law to give them out of date (use by) food, and some are trying to get the law changed to 'recommended date'. No of course I do not begrudge the kids that! as you put it Terry, what I said was that the Church/Churches are rich enough to lead by example and start giving instead of taking, never seen an hungry Bishop yet, all look remarkably well fed and adorned to me, a little humility on their part would not come amiss.

to me in life ithink you cannot take out more of anything than you put in......it makes my blood boil to see the archbishop now adopt the holy walk with his crook and pontificate about giving away more and more ....the clergy in the country live in vicararages...that a very successful businesman would strive to live in.......when do you see them out at night among the homeless and the drug and drunken in society .......i am a great believer in ....give a man a hand and i have truly done this more than once....only to have the same used for other reasons ......i may cause havoc by saying again there is no reason why anyone should be cold or hungary in this country ......but the people who claim this are usually of the same ilk .....there are families we all know of who have never worked for two and three generations who just suck up anything they can.....my ma in law lived on her state pension and benefits supplied and said she was better of than she had ever been .....as for food banks it will be a free for all of the same folks time and time again......the proportion of people claiming hard times is growing each month .....ok they dontlive a life of luxury but what is expected by these folk......i can only speak for my self but i have been there and got the teeshirt.....i recently requierd a window cleaner in one of the highest unemployment if not the highest inthe country and it took me 11 months to find a guy ......who was just starting up......and yet there are hundreds in that area unemployed......there is now in this country an underclass of people who will niether bwork nor want.......but dont they know there rights chapter and verse.....england is expected to do there duty for them.....these folk give nothing expect all ......sorry but no bugger ever gave me anything for nowt ......benefits is a neccesity in some cases but for too many it is now a way of life.....no doubt somebody will say oh yes your all right but believe me going to sea in the 50s was a joyride to building a business inthe 70s 80s etc............i speak as i find and have given much to charity over the years.......but as in the 50s 60 i had no time for bums and stiffs when there was no state help.......i have a bloody site less now.......ps why not start a money bank where yu knowif your a bit short just pop down and they will give you a few quid.......and then you wont have to queue inthe food bank......sad but thats how it is..... not for all but certainly a fair lump of them regards cappy
