You cannot have two nationalities, Where does it end, Yorkshire is better than Lancashire. Glamorgan is better than Derbyshire, Bolton is better than Newcastle,.... Its bleddy barmy and Daft. and does it really matter??????
Brian. going back on the whisky on Monday evening.
Now Brian, one has to be very careful about this. as you now know Boltonstan may no longer be part of the Britis Isles from all acounts the MP is from another country and may well declare independence for the town.

Re: Scotland's Navy
But the problem is that most governmenst have lost sight of why govs came into being in the firts place.
The first duty of any gov is to defend the nation and protect the borders.
It appears to me that so many have forgotten this basic rule. Maybe enoch was correct in what he said.

Re: Scotland's Navy
CLYDE SHIPPING COMPANY
......and let's not forget the Clyde Shipping Company which plied between the mainland ports to Ireland as cattle boats before the War. Many of them were requisitioned by the Admiralty and re-fitted as Rescue Ships. 29 of them supported 797 Convoys in all theatres of the War saving 4,194 lives from 14 Nationalities. So , there I go again on my Hobby Horse !
Brenda
English daughter of an Irish Master- W.J. Hartley who served with a Scottish Shipping Co.
ps Let's not get too precious about all this. A genuine mistake written in a good article.

#16.... If you had said that to me as to John in Oz, my reply would be I am an Australian citizen and my first obligation is to Australia. Any of these mongrels who come here and take up citizenship and swear allegiance to the Queen, then go abroad and fight against Australian forces are traitors and by no means should be allowed back in to this country, there is no place for them here better they stay among their own people who have the same beliefs. Any politician who lets them back in will not be getting my vote at the next election. John S

Re: Scotland's Navy
Hi John
It was on our News here that your OZ government has started giving visas to the Boat People again.
So what is that all about. the Terrorists who went to fight in Syria/Iraq beheading people just comes back in on a boat and gets a new visa.
Cheers
Brian

Re: Scotland's Navy
These are temporary visas Brian rather than keep them locked up and looked after they are allowed into the community and to work while their applications are processed. I am assuming if found not to be genuine refugees will be returned back where they came from. This was the case with the last Liberal government and which the labour government rescinded and allowed every one in ad lib. Do think they are not allowed all the benefits either. JS

Re my post #16 Happy Daze, I stand corrected, you are of course an Australian now, and remiss of me to think otherwise
