    Saw that one. There are a number of videos of those Greek ferries doing similar on the small Islands they serve. Backing down onto a small pier in a swell is not my idea of fun, yet the Greek skippers have to do it on a regular basis. Hats off to them.

    watching the aft mooring crew and the shore gang, health and safety obviously no where near. The strain on those ropes must have them singing at times.

    I suppose they have no option but to do it, John, to keep to schedule, from what I know about some of the Greek Isles, the berthing facilities are somewhat primitive to say the least. A concrete pier, a couple of bollards and a lot of good luck with no room for misjudgement.

    And of course they are in the same EU that we are, with the same rules!,,,,except they just ignore them, so do a lot of other countries in EU, just us daft bloody lot that abide to the letter, KT
