Hi KEITH,
I saw Tregenna on TV
It was a murder case where a man stabbed and then strangle his wife. His young son was watching from the stairs.
He came from the next village named FOCHIRW you had to be careful how you say that.
Cheers
Brian.

Thanks Brian, will check it out, out of interest. My tribute is in regard to: The SS. Tregenna:
There were FIVE Tregenna’s:
In January, 1880 the second steamship built for Hains was named Tregenna. Like many other large tramp companies, their ships were registered in small places on the coast; Edward Hain used the family birthplace, St. Ives.
TREGENNA 1880-1892
( 92-To Leith Owners 20-CAP LA HEVE. 23-CARRIE 33-Broken Up )
TREGENNA(2) 1892-1915
( 15-STATHE 26/09/1916-War loss )
TREGENNA (3) Torpedoed/sunk 9 miles South of Dodman Point by UB57 on her maiden voyage from the Tyne to Gibraltar with coal. 26/12/1917 -War loss on her maiden voyage
TREGENNA(4) 1919-1940 ex-WAR BULLDOG 17/09/1940-War loss
TREGENNA Torpedoed/sunk NW of Rockall on voyage from Philadelphia to Newport in HX71 with steel, thirty three crew lost. 17/09/1940

Haines Tre-ships: Armed with finance provided by Bolitho’s bank (the forerunner of Barclays) the youngest Edward visited the shipyard of John Readhead & Co at South Shields where Hain placed the first of many orders for the company. Readhead’s delivered the first steamer named Trewidden in honour of the Bolitho estate outside Penzance. The relationship between Hain and Readhead ultimately produced a total of 87 ships for the company, all with the prefix ‘Tre’ a Cornish word for ‘farmstead’. http://www.poheritage.com/our-histor...amship-company

our two countries at war that would be something, firstly who would the yanks help?(not for free that's for sure),would we have civil war in both nations first owing to the fact we have large portions of each others xpats, and which paddock would be our battleground?then when it was all over,we really would belong to the u.s of a.think I will crack a tinny or three to drown the image.god for a giggle if nothing else.

Ref. the recent posts on kangaroos, we could dress them up in uniform and they would be the first line of defence. Second row camels, and third emus. They would get that annoyed especially if any greens there in their forces and would be afraid to shoot, throw a few boomerangs at them and they would have to give up and go home, on their chartered vessels sailing under the Panamanian flag.
