Re: Guilty or not?
BOB,
The song is the D. Day Dodgers by Hamish Henderson of the 8th Army in 1944 sung to the tune of Lily Marlene and dedicated to Lady Astor who insulted them by apparantly not knowing the 8th Army fought their way through North Africa Sicily and Italy. She also said to Winston"If you were my husband I'd put poison on your coffee" to which Winston replied,"Nancy if you were my wife I'd have drunk it". Needless to say she was neverf invited to any 8th Army reunions.

Re: Guilty or not?
hi shipmates, Many tales are told of judges across this country, who dont favour groups of people i.e gypsy, seaman , tramps , blacks, welsh and scots and many others but its a myth, they can only give what the law allows for that crime /misbehaviour thy cant hang you for carnal knowledge of they daughter, as much as they would like too.Today any judge would be kick off the bench for any of the above.

Maybe you're forgetting about Judge Jeffreys 'the hanging judge' Louis. notorious during the reign of James11 who would impose capital punishment or deportation for very minor offences including theft from the paint locker or the 2nd stewards store, whatever their nationality.
