What gets my goat Brian is the women from Southampton, i believe, has just been found guilty of fraud, owns at least two houses etc. But no mention that i can find that she has to sell some assets, ie property , to pay US back. she is suffering from severe mental problems!!!, that came on at a very convenient time. But she is of course a member of that exclusive club in London called parliament. KT

    Default Suicides at sea.

We've drifted off the original theme so we are now on about the government. Many people are not aware of what is going to hit them next April when the government bring in there new measures to cut the Social Security bill. Some say there will be suicides as people will not be able to afford to live.On Merseyside there are some 300,000 that will be affected by the "Bedroom Tax" these people wont be able to downsize to one bedroom houses/flats so what it amounts to its not a measure to free up three bedroom houses for families it is just a way of cutting peoples benefits. The newly appointed Mayor of Liverpool has written to David Cameron warning him that there will be riots on the streets of Liverpool next year due to all the cuts being made by his government. Some say he is scaremongering and ind fact talking it up and inciting people to riot.Liverpool has been hit by cuts something like £270 per person whilst Conservative councils down south have been hit by as low as £2 per person,is this fair?

As I live in the South ....

I just don't get why there is a need for Gay marriage , if the human rights lot get a grip of this can we have straight Civil Partnerships . I think this is a diversion , what does seem suspiciously quiet though is the Moslem faith , I wonder if they have a stance on this , because I do not see two Moslem men or women getting wed down at the local Mosque

( Jim that was tongue in Cheek , we pay less in this area than some adjoining areas , but the services seem shaved to the bone to me , that suits me , but not everyone )

Here is an odd fact about gay marriage. Hetrosexuals, thats you and me fellas, can live in sin for all their lifes and be quite happy. They have a partner and are quite content with that. But for some reason the gay community are not, they want marriage. why should they be treated differently? If straight people can live without marriage why are gays so mad to get it, marriage thta is.

Anne and I are together now for 28 years next week.
Why spoil a good relationship by getting married.

    Default Suicide at Sea

I sailed on one of BPs we were heading up the gulf and the deck boy received a telegram to say his nan had died, she had brought him up, he asked the skipper if he could fly home from the gulf and he refused, a couple of days later he jumped out of his porthole, all ships close by joined the search but to no avail. Skipper was so shocked as we all were.

The only suicide in my time at sea, was approx 1959 on the Stirling Castle off the west coast of Africa, between East London and Capetown when he jumped, we searched for some time, nothing found, but with the *nobby clarks* in that area, no surprise. I think actually Doc Vernon was on the same trip, the guy was from the catering i think KT
