    Default Letters and Numbers??

    Just a quick question please!

I have been updating my late Uncles Crew List as i now have got the remainder of his Ships etc!
On his last Discharge Book near the front is the letters
BSCNo 118106A this is then crossed through and another Number is put in its place 058083B
What would this Number or Numbers have represented!??
And the letters which i presume are something like
    British Seaman's -------- -----------????
    Thanks
    Cheers
