Somali Pirates
Over the past few weeks a number of comments have been made on this site regarding the pirates from Somalia, my own opinion which I will state now for the third time it to 'Blow the B******S out of the water'.
Well someone up there must have been listening, if you look at page 26 of the Sunday Express todays issue 6.11.11 you will be pleased to see that that is exactly what has happened to two pirate boats. Unfortunately the pirates were taken in to custody before the Navy Ship blew the boats out of the water.

i think we would all like to blow them out of the water and have done with them but remember they have up to 400 captured seamen and until a rescue of the prisoners nothing much can be done? the fight must be won on land first then do whatever is needed at sea life is cheep out there we could do allot more to help traffic through that part of the world. to much red tape to go through before engaging the pirates first thing mobile phones should be taken of members of the armed forces dealing with them you will allways get some tosser putting a capture on the likes of youtube that will ad fuel to the fire once a rescue is secured then nuke the bastards. just my view.john

An article in the "SHIPPING" magazine, July 2011.
On the 3rd May, 2011 a Spanish court sentanced two pirates to 439 years jail each for their involvement in the capture of the fishing vessel 'Alakrana. The vessel was hijacked in October 2009 and freed two months later after a ransom of $3.5 m was paid.
On the 12th May 2011, a Danish warship attacked a pirate boat off Somalia, killing 4 pirates and freeing 16 Iranian hostages on board. 10 other pirates were wounded during gun battles between the Danish vessel ' Esbern Snare' and the pirate mother ship.
Thats the kind of reports I like to read
