Nice one Chris, and all, Loud Applause. But how can this be prevented in the future. From what I have read on this matter, I must doubt the sincerity of Trinity House, as it would appear they have led Tower Hamlets Council, and Moving Venue, into believing they had there suport.

Only a theory, but if I could think about it, could not an Extremist not think about it??
    Think about it.

    Hi All.
I have sent an email to the Mayor and the licensing authorities.
I am appalled that anyone could give aproval for partying to be allowed at the Tower Hill Memorial to Merchant Seamen. The merchant Navy lost more men than any other service during the second world war and have no known graves. These men under great stress served among other seas on the Atlantic and Russian convoys, and this shows no respect to their memories.

Thumbs up This article will make your blood boil.

First of all thank you Ian for bringing this disgracefull act to our attention.
What a disgrace to all those poor souls who lost their lives, however it seems that the problem has been resolved, thank God, but I will still send off e-mails to let them all know of my disgust.

I have sent an email to the Mayor thanking him for his action in stopping these events, it seemed appropriate as we were quick enough to condemn the Council in allowing them and we seamen have a reputation to uphold of being fair minded people.

So I hope no one is upset, as we may need his support in the future, because this may not be the last time some organisation trys this misguided venue fiasco

    Default Relief !

Having only this evening, acceesing the Posts regarding the the proposed desecration of our Merchant Navy's Memorial Site. Was increasingly angered as the letters revealed, the lack of Common Sense that the local Council should have even considered it in the first place. As for Trinity House ,it appears that "thier Light has gone out"
I thank you all, the Contributors who's perseverance made these People realise how wrong they were.but it's another wake -up call to alert us to what is and can happpen, to to the accepted British ,way of life. Was I glad when coming to the Post advising to Click Here ,and reading the Evening Standard's ,report.Thank You !One and All,Shipmates.
