Doctors (GPs) are threatening to go on strike because they are overworked and underpaid, pardon*** but you cannot get a face to face appointment because 'they' are not seeing anyone but only doing telephone consultations, that's if you get the receptionist to allow such a consultation/phone call. Yet we are being bombarded by adverts from the NHS on TV, and in the Press, urging us to see our doctors if we have been experiencing a cough for two weeks or more as it could be cancer related, which is adding insult to injuring and also wasting vast amounts of NHS (our) money on these useless adverts. It is apparent, or would appear to be so, that administrators are not talking to each other and the left hand does not know what the right hand is doing.
*** Doctors (or Practices) are paid by the number of patients registered on their books regardless whether they see you or not, from reports the average GP earns £93,000 per annum. I have never known a Doctor Practice to be open on a Saturday afternoon or Sunday, and if asking to see a particular doctor you're told he started at 8 this morning so finished at 2 this afternoon

#632.. Denis the way I see it ,I may be wrong but when your wife was tested it is a test to see if you are running a temperature not to see if you have COVID . Hope all future tests have proven negative .jS

Re: Covid Vacs
Cooma is 100 Kilometres South of Canberra, they have controlled their Covid cases so much so that they are the best State in Aus.
That all came unstuck when the schools went back and some twat held a Halloween party at a house there , they had around 160 kids there now every school in Canberra has closed down, right on exam time. The thing is Halloween is not celebrated in Aus, it's a Yank thing. The home owner was fined $1,000 they should have been jailed for stupidity.

Re: Covid Vacs
We do not have a problem seeing a GP here where we live.
Most times you can get to see your regular GP within a week, sometimes within a day.
Our surgery is open Weekends but for non seniors there is a fee.
Depending who is on the desk at the time you may be offered a video consultation.
I was offered one by some silly Shelia new to the desk.
When I asked how the GP did a blood pressure test via the net she suddenly told me I could see him.
Never been asked that again.

Happy daze John in Oz.

Re: Covid Vacs
Interesting on another feed the quote is less than 2000.
For reasons unknown the figures are quoted after having tested positive, it doesn't mean that you have died from Covid and the figures distort the truth.
Friends of mine have died from natural causes and when questioning what would be put on the death certificate the answer given was COVID.
They fought tooth and nail to get the actual cause of death recorded.

Re: Covid Vacs
I spent 7-10 days in an isolation ward long before Covus . Just for the reason I went into an outpatients ward complaining of stomach and other complaints .The first thing they do is normal medical practice they take your temperature and blood pressure . I had a fever, don’t know what temperature this is taken as accepted as is too long since I did any courses .immediately they asked had I been abroad. No I said not in the past 10 years .after all the body scans and isolation it was about the sixth specialist to see me an Indian lady doctor who put her finger on it , and it was a common complaint which I can’t remember the name of. I doubt very much that they can assume just from a body temperature that anyone has the present lurgy. JS. PS it was something to do with the digestive system and would have to go through my medical records , but have no doubt many would recognise it. JS
