#526. I have kept out of this discussion all the way through , I tend to follow government rulings and have followed them for whatever reason apart from also from the Covus advice. And have just got round to joining the massive queues which I expected by watching the panic surges put out by the media. I walked into a medical centre yesterday and the queue consisted of 3 people sitting on chairs awaiting the 10 minutes mandatory to pass after receiving the vaccination . I went in showed my Medicare card received my vaccination and walked out sat down and carried on with my crossword for 10 minutes.Then walked out back to my car. Where are all these queues of people ? I was told before leaving to come back in 3 weeks to receive the final vaccination. I have to enter this discussion to find out from post 1 , when stating 127 deaths for what period of time is this ?
Whenever I watch the news and before switching channels I have had the impression that is being put across that thousands are dying daily ? Just inquisitive that’s all . I”m a bit of a fatalist and would be interesting to know how many may be travelling with me , no matter what I expire from .JS

If I was a news reporter interviewing a would be politician looking for votes to enable him to sit in a parliament,..the first thing I would ask him ..Would be why he wanted to be a politician ? This is I think what the average layman would like to know. If he wasn’t sincere about the usual garbage they put out about wanting to help people in which case I would rule him or her out on principle, anyhow on shedding his/ hers few tears , my next question would be would be, if he didn’t succeed on his winning a seat, would he then be going into some form of charity work ? The way he answered this question would also make my decision for me. Myself I believe most politicians and those also in local government , who go into it as a well paid job with a good pension and that’s it. None of them are there for the good of others , unless it improves their own standards in the community and paves the path for future advancement , the other bait for the egotistically minded politician is leaving a rememberence of his/her name for future mankind in the history books or on Google. Party political arguments leave me cold , they are all the same just wearing different ties. Cheers JS

The fact most people do not understand is how govs work.
They are just the front men for the permanent departments that run the country, the public service and the like.

Govs may come up with ideas but only if the public servants say yes.

There is far more power behind the throne than can ever be imagined.
I spent some time working in Somerset House in the 60's, then home of the UK tax office.
I learned more about the political scene whilst working there for contract caterers than at any other time.

I can think of at least one shipping company I worked for that had a big Office staff and there were more little kingdoms under that roof than met the eye . Unfortuanetley this spread to the sea staff as well,there was no doing a Switzerland act and being neutral. If that little hierarchy went down ,you went with it. There was more back stabbing ashore than was ever at sea . JS

The AZ is back on the Cards now for ALL. As are the others as well, so if and when there is a need for Boosters seems like it wont matter which one you take. For me i will just stick to the AZ have had no Symptoms except a little off colour for about 4 hrs with the first Dose, then nothing at all with Second!
I cannot see why there is still all this fuss over which Jab one should have , one is as good as the other only some may last a wee bit longer .

Mind you may be i will get a Saline Injection ! LOL Happened in Melbourne with quite a few getting just pure Saline in place of the real stuff! What a mess!! LOL

As for our Premier i think that ICAC did a bum job on the timing of all this for her, she has done all the hard Yards and now will not be able to at least claim some of the accolades! Its all wrong! Why could they not have held back for just another two Weeks. She was one of the best Premiers we have had that i know of, and i can say now that we will not have another like her for a very long time to come! She put her all into what she did ,and did it all for the People of NSW! Bless you Gladys and i do hope that things turn out just Dandy for you in the future! You are a strong lady and will come through all this on Top!!

I wouldnt know one from the other just told the medic to do what was necessary, and the best for my age group.
Isn’t your premier the one the media made all the kerpuffle about her having an affair with one of her ministers and her private life ? . Or is that someone else.? JS

Yes JS it is , and ICAC is investigation allegations about her and Him. Pity that , as she was as said a great Premier!
Why do these Private things have to ruin peoples lives!

Huge Covid news breaking here in the States. Merck and Ridgeback pharma companies have announced they have invented a pill that reduces the need for hospitalization for Covid by 50%. It will be obtained by prescription and taken at home at the first hint of Covid, it is a series of taking multi of the pill for. I believe 10 days. During the trial period of those who took placebos, 8 died. where nobody died who took the pills. The US government dept. that oversees medical drugs etc. are fast tracking confirmation and allowing the pills, called Mulnuparavar, to be available to the public. In addition Pfizer and Roche are close to announcing a pill too.

It will not replace the vaccines, but be at least a 50% protection against going to hospital and dying. I'm sure more clearer news will be hitting the streets soon.
