Dear Graham Maestro, Thanks your communication of the 13th inst. saw the problem straight away. As on working out In my head head it appears that your flinders bar has been overworked and requires replacing, your AB and C correcting magnets have lost their iron filings and your Lord Kelvins Balls have been painted the wrong way round.
Suggest you get in touch with John in Oz immediately who knows a good compass adjustor who will put you on the right Acton to take. Even if he may suggest you take a more modern approach and advice on a good cheap, gyro compass replacement , as he also confirms that the north magnetic pole is moving faster than estimated And your old formula may soon be out of date. However as a brief emergency try using half dlong X cos. Lat . All The best JS.
As to the symptoms of the title of this post I have been trying to find out . There seems to be a lack of such information on official sites , but different people have different ideas some even say mild forms of depression and insanity are a sign. It does however show there is a lot of talk but little knowledge still as of yet. If there was information out I am sure by now someone would have put it on site via Google who seem to know everything . Cheers .JS.

Whenever the media has outstanding news about upsurges in new cases of the at present lurgy they always show visitors to the country with someone taking someone’s temperature by shining a light on someone’s fore head. This is not rocket science as anyone running a fever will show a higher body temperature and is only one of the primary tests for suspicion of having the virus or any other virus. . I spent a week in a hospital in an isolation ward on the same result as was surmised as having some tropical fever this was 3 years ago. It was a week before it was put down to concictuvitus or something sounding similar which was a stomach complaint. If we all knew what other symptoms were apart from body temperature we maybe able to assist the medics faster in making their decisions , instead of the general public scrambling to buy toilet rolls. JS.

    Post Re: Covid Vacs

Gosh, this thread is a long one now .People keep adding to it!

JS Oracle Your #294 0f 28th May inst.(Rest assured there will be those youngsters today who think that's short for Instagram).Well I do know that your formula which you keep trying to catch me out on,seemingly,is to work out the departure i.e. difference of long from your starting point to your arrival waypoint.on a G.C.sailing(once again'for those 'celeb' obsessed youngsters today it does NOT refer to Gemma Collins). That's departure sorted then, but I'll be blowed what the arrival will be,probably the 1/2 dlong divided by the cosec lat over the angle of dangle.Today's navigators can just use the satnav which isn't half as much fun but gives you much more time in the bar and eliminates much rubbing out of 2B pencil on the charts. Didn't we call them Hamlets-" 2B or not 2B-that is the question".
The only formula I remember now is basic trigonometry - Silly Old Harry Caught A Herring Trawling Off Anglesey, which of course is sin = opp.over hypotenuse, cosine = adjacent over hypot,tan=0pp.over adjacent. Mnemonics have generally helped me to remember many pertinent facts and formula, instead of just Port and Starboard on the respective hands-trouble is it soon washes off.The only thing is now I sometimes can't remember what the actual mnemonic stands for! I won a pub quiz once by remembering all the 7 Hills of Rome which are Caelium,Quirinale,Viminale.Esquiline,Avantine,Capi toline and Palatine-just because I remembered the mnemonic. -Can Queen Victoria Eat a Cold Pudding..... I remember there were sarcastic calls of 'Clever Barsteward ! round the room. The prize was £15 which didn't quite stretch to buying 6 of us a pint each, but it's the taking part isn't it and it makes a nice change from dominoes

Off to bed again. The Old Man wants you to call him at 0430 but didn't say what name you should use.He has many.(didn't they all)

As long as you remember All sausages turn cold, you will not have to eat a cold breakfast. Usual name should do , get up you old git and ring one bell in his ear. As regards the half Dlong bit of my reminiscing , a good sparky if he was a good natured soul and you could get round him to apply it to any radio bearing he took for you , it was only a matter of time after that that you could get him to apply it to the chart and hey oh , history might have been changed and instead of doing away with sparkys as extra to requirements , they could of done away with the mates , most engineers would totally agree with this principle , we could of joined the queue of dole bludgers and lived happily ever after. I have just got up and have been dreaming of your P.M. with his hair cut and looking like he escaped from Belsen. Goodnight JS
PS As regards #295 Please read Convictuitis or whatever , as Divictutitis as dreaming about Boris brought it all back into the memory banks. Hope this is not a sympton of the lurgy. but wiil never know without someone saying. A bit like that saying give us the tools and we"ll half do the job.. Cheers JS

We have some Rats here on Warfarin who have not died, all in parliament though.

Yes here we are again locked up.
But the upside, massive numbers of tests and the number now coming forward for Vaccinations quite amazing.
So many were laid back, no worries mate style, now panic to get the jab.

But state gov is playing silly games with us, Federal gov issued Victoria with 1.1 million doses but state gov has only distributed some 400,000 to clinics for use.
    Happy daze John in Oz.

Life is too short to blend in.

In our local news paper and online national papers, there has been much said about the people who ignore the vovid rules, now it
seems the Government Sage advisors are warning that we are on a knife edge of being plunged back into lockdown because of the
lack of respect of the rules, over the weekend my son has been out in the car and drove through the main Southend seafront area,
he said all the pubs, bars and eateries were absolutely heaving, no social distancing and not a mask in sight, Southend atracts people
from many areas including London, it seems to me that all of those people we lost to the pandemic and all of the time we've spent in
lockdown plus all of the sacrfices made by those who have not been able to get the treatment they need, means nothing to these
covid idiots, in my opinion it's time for some firm action on the Governments part , just my take on it, cheers.

Firm action would have been banning travel from India two weeks before they actually did. The numbers for India were actually higher than Pakistan or Bangladesh but yet these two countries were placed on the Red list well before India. Over 20,000 Indians supposedly arrived in the UK just prior to India being placed on the Red List. I suppose the fact that there are or were 7 British Indians in the Cabinet or a total of 16 Ethnic members of the Cabinet. There is even one who is described as British Iranian/ Irish mixed(Seema Kennedy)
Firm action, taken after granny & granda and the rest of the families get in first, then ban Indian travel.

Hi Lewis, yeah many mistakes have been made since the pandemic first started, hindsight is a fine thing and shutting the stable door after the horse has bolted
does not bring the horse back. I was voicing my opinion of th selfisf idiots we have here already, we've all had to knuckle down and follow the rules but
these people only care about their own needs, and that is what I think the Government should stamp on for the sake of us all, as said that's my take on it,
    cheers.
